Nin/rng?

I really would like to have an advanced job as my subjob so I was thinking NIN/RNG because the RNG passive skills help a lot with stealth and help with ranged attacks (shurikens... very powerful ranged weapons)

I know I wouldn't be doing any trick attack or anything but I think this would be a good soloing class (if the ninjitsu that hides you from sight works after you use a shuriken)

If you do something to the monster that creates hate such as inflicting damage to it, the monster will still be able to see you even if you cast Invisible. The only way you can successfully get away is if you cast Sleep on the monster and cast Invisible (although that would be kind of pointless because once the monster wakes up it will start chasing you anyway XD).

I haven't partied with any NIN/RNG in the game though. I would imagine people would sub RNG so NIN can use gun and bow weaponskills (because NINs can equip those). I guess most experienced NINs see themselves as Blink tanks so they all sub WAR instead. It's probably better off that way too, because any non-RNG using ranged weapons = Lots of missing. *Shrugs*

I am not going to be attacking like a ranger... well not while I'm in a party. I mainly want to have the ranger sub for the added stealth skills and the scavenge skill and the revealing the monsters on the map skill. But I would like to use throwing as just kind of either a pulling weapon or just to get a good hit on a monster before it attacks. Since I won't be attacking like a ranger I won't have to worry about WSs with throwing because after I pull I'll be using katana.

Right now im a 13nin/6rng and its working out quite nicely. Stealth+Alertness+invis is a great combo for quests and for places you gota sneak around to. Also wide scan+bow skills makes you a great puller and once you get Blink scroll you'll be a better puller and will be able to take a few good hits.

Some people like nin/thief and most people do the nin/war but i play what i think is fun. And nin/rng is definately a very cool job combo.

I cant really say how useful it will be in higher lvl but im gona try to keep this combo for as long as possible.

ALso i've been fiddling with ranger/nin

lvl 20 ranger can duel arch swords and get a nice+20 to ranged attacks.

Over all id have to say its a fun combo and ranger abilities go very well with nin abilities.
Also sharpshot at helps w/ ranged attacks.

Whoa! another Nin/Rng

Im the only existent Ninja/ Ranger in Carbuncle, And ive found that ive been accepted into alot of parties with this combo. Perhaps they r interested in wot u can do. Also when im dueling katanas i can whip out a silver arrow with alot of power when ever i want. I think this combo is very misjudged!

Like Val said, nin/rng isn't a very wise thing to do.

The ONLY way a person can be a nin/rng.. a good one... is:

1) Peacock Charm
2) accuracy up equipment
3) Maxed gun weapon skills
4) Tons of money
5) no gimp equipment... everything must be HQ+2 bla bla bla

etc. etc. etc.

It's a tough road, I was going to try it when I was in FFXI.

So I assume that Rng ranged job abilities don't work with Throwing Weapons? Thats a pity, with a Ninja's high Throwing ability and damaging Shurikens it could possibly be a powerful combo.
