NIN quest nm's hard?

I was wondering if the 3 leech type nm's you have to kill for nin quest are hard and what lvl you need to be to kill etc....thanks in advance

well, out of previous experience...it's %#*!ing hard.

I had two 27s, a 38 (who also was doing quest), a 55WAR, a 60THF, along with me, 30WAR. Truly...if you have that kind of PT, its just as hard to get to the NMs as it is to fight them, heheh.

I died fighting the NMs cuz I had to touch the plant that brings em in...so they aggroed me and I died in about...10 second

AND, as if it weren't enough, all other leeches and bogies around will aggro you (and there are quite a few).

i killed them with ease. my pt was:

lvl 34 thf- me
lvl 40 blah (most likely gantoris, sorry forgot job and lvl exactly)
lvl 50 war- atrus
lvl 60 whm- juibb
(other people... im forgetting... maybe not other people... coulda been just us...)

and we kicked the leeches asses... so uh.. yeah

Hmm seems both of you had a few higher lvls with you. Could a pt of 6 lvl 30's manage to do the quest in case you can't get any higher lvl help?

you need higher level help, a leech can kill you in 5 hits, and a WHM can't keep up with that at level 30. I'd say a PT of 40s could do it, but otherwise, good luck

Was wondering what the difficulty rating was for them. I noticed you guys didnt have mage support besides whm, maybe they would be easier if one or two of the leeches were put to sleep. Ninja and red mage have always been my favorite ff jobs and i am trying to plan for retail, so if possible id like to take on leeches at lvl 30.

Oh and if i get a chance to take it on in beta im already prepared for it, only lvl 30 rdm though

Im worried finding high lvl support wont be an option in retail, at least not right away.

well, first of all, you cannot check difficulty on NMs

second of all, by the time you reach 30, there are sure to be obsessed level 45+ people....unless you happen to become obsessed more than them...lol

so yeah, if you can't get high level support, get maybe a 10 person level 30-35 alliance and it should be easy.

About the sleep thing, the leeches are almost completely immune to status affects, and sleep only knocks them out until they get hit, so its not too useful unless your running away.

Hehe well Ive had some luck in emergencies with sleeping an enemy and having the party not hit it while we concentrate on one enemy. I have heard ppl put hte dragon to sleep as well for m6.

As far as getting help im not so worried about the fact there will be other high lvl ppl, the problme is they will not help me. Sadly its rare to get a strong enough gathering of ppl especialy if they are not interested in the ninja job or have alraedy done it. If my current LS is any indication i will be the high lvl person helping others so not sure who i get to help with nin quest.

Silly me about the NM checking thing, hopefully i can gather enough ppl in retail, but i have the feeling I may be waiting a few weeks after reaching lvl 30 before i get this quest over with.

Hmm, im guessing that a full alliance of lvl 30's could prolly take the leeches. Im sure thered be lots of people at lvl 30 that were looking to do NIN quest. Im not gonna be a NIN i was just wondering about quest. Thanks for help guys!
