  • Do you think it is possible...?

I've just read the AF armor FAQ for MNK (whoever wrote it did a great job) and I was wondering if anyone was able to solo the AF armor as a lvl 60 MNK?

I know that some of the armor missions are just freakin impossible to solo, but if any pieces of AF armor that are solo capable for MNK then I'd really appreciate the advice.

The reason I'm asking is because my LS is currently busy helping our new members unlock the rest of their advanced subjobs (I too need help with that later but want to get my AF armor first) so I can't really get a whole lot of assistance at the moment.

    Thanks again for you help.

doubtful. for my blm AF hat, we had a 75 pld and a full party of 60-75 to complete it, so in answering your question. It's impossible. This is for the NM btw.

As far as the mobs who drop the keys, the same applies. You'd need higher levels to help you camp them.

No, you cant. Mobs that drop keys for your coffers are ep-dc to a lv.75. Also, AF3 for mnk up in castle oztroja needs atleast 12-18 lv. 60s or 1 full PT of 75s. You will also need help getting through the doors probably. AF hands needs to fight Darkspark, which is soloable by many jobs at 75 but doubtful for a lv. 60. BioIII hurts a lot!

Most coffer key enemies can be solo'd by level 75 jobs, and a few of the AF3 armor pieces can be solo'd by a 75, but at level 60? No way, sorry (particularly for MNK AF3 since it's link-prone).

        Bring some high level friends.

Did you mean this thread by "AF armor FAQ for MNK"? If so, as the 4th post in there by eisenzahn says, the MNK's AF2, the "The First Meeting" for the foot piece, is soloable if it hasn't changed. Even if many guides tell you to kill the NM's, there isn't, or at least wasn't, any need to do that to complete it.

As a matter of fact, I solo'ed this quest as a PLD/THF 61 (might have been 62). If you're lucky enough, and that this quest hasn't changed, then there's a chance that you could solo it as a MNK 60. Instead of "dying, reraising, and find the key item" way that the above mentioned post says, I did "Invincible, pop the NM's, find the moved 'Hide Flap' disregarding NM's trying to knock you down, Flee, run to the river, and keep running until they lose you." Remember, Orcs chase us by smells, so we running into the water will cut them off. I was able to do this without a single death on the path.

However, you doing this as a MNK and trying to survive at the same time (unlike reraise way) means you have to hope that the Hide Flap moves to the location that's right on the way to the river; otherwise, it's very likely that they'll kill you before you get to the water, or even find the key item. Not to mention Flee is requried for this.

All other AF armors simply aren't soloable. And even for AF2, it's still recommended ro bring high lvl friends of yours if you want the 100% success.

Re: Do you think it is possible...?

I found that MNK AF3 was pretty easy. Went to do this for a LS member, and we were over prepared with 6 of us. RDM/PLD tanked the whole fight with little to no problem. I went as RDM/DRK and helped keep his HP up, but he kept hate the entire time. I even tried to take some of it's attention away by closing a Skillchain with a Souleater Vorpal Blade in the 700's, I couldn't get it to turn and face me.

Fight seemed to draw out, but none of the other Yags respawned to cause any problems, but by no means could a MNK60 solo the thing. A MNK75 may be able to solo it if they 2hr'd the thing and brought some meds with them. I can't remember how much HP the thing had, just with two RDMs beating at it, RNG58, and a MNK58 as our "melee." The BLM couldn't really go to town with out a real tank, but the fight was one of the easiest AF3s I've ever done. (Having a BST solo my DRK AF3 was by far the easiest I've ever done.)

Oh, don't get me wrong, MNK AF3 battle in Oztroja isn't nearly the most difficult AF3 by any stretch of the imagination. I did it a couple months ago with just 3 people. I think we were WHM75/RDM37, RDM75/NIN37, and some other job I don't recall.

You just have to clear some space and drag the NM away from the tougher enemies (going down the stairs a bit is a good idea), and have non-combatants stay out of AoE range. I seem to remember this boss has a fairly strong version of Leg Sweep. After that, only thing you have to watch out for is Hundred Fists. Survive that, and you're golden.

I did MNK AF3 for an LS member with 75 BRD MNK MNK... it wasn't pretty. There were no deaths or anything, but it wasn't a walk in the park either. You need to be prepared for that one.

Yes, sadly it's far too hard to solo this...the part in Davoi is very solo-able though, I did it...and somehow didn't get aggro from the orcs, it made me really happy XD I did this NM fight very very easily with a SMN75 and BRD75 friend...that's all you really need if you let Fenny get hate >_> Sorry you can't soro it, but you can shout for some help or get LS mates to help you :D

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D
