I know Wandering Ghost is pretty tough. I know because I helped someone take him out as 64 RDM. But I'm thinking of trying to solo this as 51 MNK. How feasible do you guys think this is? With def food, ninja sub, remedies, holy waters, hi potion+3s, and some au laits, plus with the aid of my NPC I think I could put up a pretty good fight. Do you think I can pull it off or am I just dreaming? :p

It probably would be easier but I kinda just want to see if I can do it >_>My Signature. Now with 50% more processed ham product than those other leading signatures.

Re: Soloing AF1
Easiest way is to just try it and find out. If that doesn't work, go there as RDM. I have no doubt that a level 60+ RDM could solo an AF1 quest.Generic Info!
Yay for broken connection preventing me from exping/meriting!

Re: Soloing AF1
i don't think 50 is safe to solo any AF1 yet. Should be at least 60.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Re: Soloing AF1
Weeeeelllll, it's not about being safe. It's about taking on a challenge just because you can. I already know it will be incredibly difficult. I'm not fooling myself. I know how much HP this ghost has and it was a chore even for me as rdm. But with my NPC plus the fact I can dish out more dmg without nuking I think I've got a small chance of winning it. So I'm going to attempt it. If I lose then I lose, no big deal.My Signature. Now with 50% more processed ham product than those other leading signatures.

Re: Soloing AF1
I don't think you'd be able to, the NM is something like level 45? Anyway being a ghost it resists physical damage and physical damage is all we do really, you won't have an opportunity to get off a strong Chi blast either cause boost will wear when you pop the NM.
I'd say just do it on your RDM, but if you're still feeling gung-ho try him on your monk. I don't remember if undead pop close to the spawn point but if they do you could be in trouble with links when your hp drops.

Re: Soloing AF1
Undead don't pop there. But a bomb does. Ep to my lvl 51 mnk, but I killed it first and it wasn't a problem later. I tried it once already. Got it down to less to 25%. The only real problem I had was Ice Spikes. Honestly the ghost wasn't doing all that much damage to me with def gear and food. And with my NPC helping I was doing okay. However, Ice Spikes wasted a few of my potions and paralyzed me pretty often. My plan is to try again on firesday, when the ghost and ice spikes should be weaker. I also have a plan for dealing with Ice Spikes, so I'll post again once I give it another go later today. If I win, there'll be screenshots. My Signature. Re: Soloing AF1
I did have a few pieces of evasion gear. Two dodge rings, crow head and crow feet pieces. I have capped evasion too so I was dodging it pretty well. Unfortunately I don't have any of the new jobs done because I just got the expansion, so I can't use blu subMy Signature. Now with 50% more processed ham product than those other leading signatures.

Another important thing to worry about is Ice and Dark Resistance. I'd recommend maybe trying a full set of Crow gear whereever you don't have better pieces of attack gear (or maybe even sacrificing those pieces in favor of Crow gear), then tacking on some Ice Resistance to help you avoid that Paralyze effect from Ice Spikes as much as possible.
Stuff like High Breath Mantle might be useful (+5 Ice resist, +38HP when activated, though the enmity doesn't help you in this case). Arcana Earring might also be of use, particularly if you sub PLD(!) for Holy Circle and Undead Killer.

Re: Soloing AF1
I did it on Lightday and I won without too much trouble. Screenshots in a few.
Double Post Edited:
Okay so here's the set up.
Crow Beret
Crow Gaiters
Crow Hose
Crow Jupon
Malfrost Ring
Goshenite Ring
Warrior Belt +1
Ram Mantle
Shield Pendant (Couldn't find Elemental Charm)
Dodge Earring x2
Patas+1 (didn't like -10 def on TM Hooks)
Here is food and meds I used, though I didn't get to use all of it. I did pop the au lait and taco before spawning the ghost.:
Persikos au Lait (22K)
Tavnazian Taco (14K)
3 Remedies (5K each)
8 Hi Potion +3 (5K each)
4 Antidotes
4 Eye Drops
6 Holy Water
How I dealt with Ice Spikes:
It was just common sense really. Once he cast Ice Spikes, I kept fighting until I got paralyzed and my health was getting low. Then I turned around so that I wasn't hitting him anymore, used a remedy, and spammed Hi Potions until I was back in the white. Then I went back to beating on him. Nanako, my NPC, was kind enough to toss me a Cure IV at one point. She was really helpful during the fight and did decent damage. Screenshots below:
Prepping for the fight. I had about 20 Ice Resistance:
Me and my NPC getting ready to be beaten to a bloody pulp. I started off with 220% Raging Fist for 272 dmg against this thing.
Mid fght.
I beat him!
Counter ftw
Win pose!
So yeah I was able to complete it. ^^ Is it worth it taking it on at a low level without help? I dunno but it was fun. A bit of a drain on the wallet as far as meds are concerned but it's no real problem for someone who's determined to do it.My Signature.
