Hello you all! I'm sorry if this thread was already made or whatnot, just wanted to know what are some marcos for MNK, I've read Effen's thread, and i was a little confused.

Like the boost and evasion, or the WS(what is WS?)

How do you make a equipment changing macro?

How many lines can a macro hold?

How many macros does a typical MNK use?

At low levels should i focus on ATK? or ACC, Lv. range is around 1-40

What gear should i be using from 1-20?

I know this is a lot to answer, and i'm hoping other MNK players that are looking forward to starting MNK would love to read this too. I hope it not much trouble

Thanks again for all those who reply! I really need to know ~_~, my MNk is lv 3 and i dont know what to use or what type of weapons to use like knuckles, claws, or that cesti thingy....

I'm sooo new to MNK....... and FFXI...... i forgot everything i've learned from 2 years ago...

    Please help

    -Thank you again

    Re: Macros/Gear

Early on a MNK isn't going to require a lot of macros. But later on you might want them to swap in gear for Chi Blast, and for weaponskills.

An equip change macro is basically:

/equip Slot Item - so if you wanted to put on your Power Gi, it would be /equip Body "Power Gi"

      Re: Macros/Gear

      Attack > STR in gear.

For low levels, there really isn't much choice in gear. Assuming you don't have expensive gear, just wear what you can. Battle gloves for hands (if you can't get o.kotes), rice dumpling for food (attack and accuracy at once, works well until the 40's/50's for MNK).

If you don't have a brown belt on MNK, you might consider tilt belt if you really need the extra accuracy at level 40.

What weapon to use... Well, MNK have a lot of options on weapons, but many of them are substandard. Below level 10, try out whatever you want. At level 10, I'd recommend legionaire's knuckles, then their upgraded versions at level 15. They have the best base damage, as well as accuracy and attack.

Those weapons will last you a while, even. In general, you go after what has the best base damage. Boreas Cesti are pretty good because of their 100% activation rate on wind damage, but you won't likely have that if MNK is your first job, so you go back to looking for highest base damage.

At higher levels, weapon choices get a bit more broad. Crosscounters, TM hooks +2 (or +1), and Spartan Cesti are all hand to hand weapons in the 50's that will last you until level 72 easily. Wagh Baghnakhs are at 72, and have a hidden latent effect while under 100% TP of +14 attack, or some such.

It's +14atk; Tried it on without any food and lower than 100% TP. It will be more than +14atk if you have not cap your food atk. If you're using bison steak then you wouldn't be able to cap your atk (needs 500atk to cap it).
