To begin, I know Boost lasts 3 minutes before wearing off. That's not what I mean.
What I'm asking is how Boost applies to multi-hit attacks. It appears to normally last for half the attack round, in that it wears off after one fist. Obviously if one isn't using H2H or DW, it would last the entire attack round.
However, in both H2H attacks and DW attacks, each hit is tallied and displayed separately in the battle log. With multi-hit WSs, such as Raging Fists, the damage is tallied separately but displayed as a lump sum. Does Boost wear off after the first hit, or is the ATK boost calculated for each hit? Because SA's crit guarantee only applies to the first hit, I'm guessing that Boost's ATK boost does the same.
If the answer isn't already known, it would be a wretch to parse. I guess you could first assess the amount of ATK boost is giving you by doing 12 Boosts and dividing the net attack by 12; from what I've read, this will work out to 12.5% of your pre-Boost ATK. Then add gear that gives the same amount of ATK. If you had 320 ATK natively and Boost gave you exactly 40 ATK, then the equivalent would be a gear set giving exactly 40 ATK.
1) Do 25 single-Boosted Raging Fists on a lv1 mob at 100% TP.
2) Do 25 non-Boosted Raging Fists on a lv1 mob at 100% TP with equivalent ATK gear.
If the average of set 2 is higher than the average of set 1, I suppose that would be conclusive that Boost wears off after the first hit. If they're equal (or close to it), then I'd think Boost wears off after the WS has completed.
Either way, I'm leaving Boost in my WS macro.
