Sheep are one of the tougher mobs. Buy some Meat Jerky if you're meleeing, which you probably should be at that level even as a mage. It's sold in taverns.

Lol, my first chance to learn exp party mechanics was in "Maze of Shakrami". Party of 2-3 all with bows/x-bows or whatever ranged just kills that area so easy. Game is setup were it's possible to solo all the way to 75 if you wanted, but you have to be very selective on what you fight and pit your jobs strengths to the mobs weaknesses.

For example for RNGs going after Worms or flying creatures you have better luck killing solo. For MNKs going after mobs with fast attack speeds or skeletons they generally have good luck with (Due to counterattack and H2H weapons abilities for those). Each job has a set of mobs they can pretty much specialize in killing solo with BST being the most encompassing due solely to the fact that their job and it's abilities is pretty going to be what the mobs is that they charm.

Which is why BSTs can solo so much, as long as they can find that right mob that has strength over others in the area. Have to be able to charm it as well though.

You are not a tank. It's probably best to get that out of the way as soon as possible. But you don't take hits like wet tissue paper, so that's something.

/cue someone to come in with their RDM tanking stories.

There won't be any stories of a RDM tanking in pick-up XP parties. If there are, they're about very, very experienced RDMs with excellent party support, and they take place at high levels.

Don't try to tank as RDM until you've had enough personal experience to know for yourself why you shouldn't try to tank as RDM.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

Sometime last year or maybe even earlier there was some poster on the RDM forums at Alla who insisted RDM could tank from the word go. But it was an ugly, ugly discussion. I feel bad even bringing it up.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here. I'm glad you're having fun. And it's great that your teammates need you. Just realize that you won't be able to tank for very long as a RDM. In fact, eventually you'll find yourself hanging out on the back lines as a regular caster. That's just what happens.
