  • Monk Stance

Hello, I haven't played FFXI in a long time and was thinking of playing again. I was wondering if Elvaan's H2H fighting stance still looks the same. My main is an Elvaan and he's already leveled up, but I don't want to use an Elvaan for MNK if their H2H still looks the same. Are Humes the only races to have the 'good' looking fighting stance?

    Thank you.

    They still look the same.

    Tarutaru have a decent stance.

Mithra look like their putting up a fight.

Elvaan are the only race I see that really don't look that good in a H2H stance. Guess that's what you pay for with their good stats for MNK

          Thank you very much Taskmage.

          ***EDIT***
At higher lvl, do monks hit pretty fast? I can kind of live with Elvaan IF they attack fast so I won't have to look at the horrible stance.

Hume Male's monk stance and Tarutaru's monk stance are basically the same though

Same with the Galka and Mithra stances. Unfortunately, the Humes and Galkas are at the distinct disadvantage of not being Tarutarus or Mithras respectively.

Monks start hitting fast at high levels. They get hand to hand delay decreases at levels 1, 15, 30, 45, 60, and 75. (At least I think it was that...give or take a level.) Plus one of the strongest hand to hand weapons in the 70s only has a delay of +48 after you get the latent off.

                Edit: I was close...

                    Hume FTW.

But I say that because I hate non-realistic stuff. Isn't it ironic that I play this game? I love this game, but I hate fantasy stuff. So, I pick the hume, and call it even. :D

Really, also, though, the stance shouldn't matter that much.

                      Re: Monk Stance

I like the Galka stance, but I'm a bit biased, watching it for ~59 levels or so kindof grows on you.

The Elvaan stance is pretty much Emo. Just kidding, all the stances for the Elvaan are just pretty nonchalant, and I don't really know why.

I'd stick with the character you already have. I can't see why people keep making alts, drives me bonkers.

Elvaan stances are very arrogant-looking in general, I've noticed.

I have to say, I like the detail on the Hume MNK cause they look alot more clean cut then all of them. =D

I guess they do it to be more flexible. Like they leave one char at NM spawn site, and level their other char. So when the time comes, they can get on their 1st char to get the NM, people do that at Spook alot >.<

But "Ugh" is my persona, even though I don't roleplay, he is my Avatar.

Its one of the things that I absolutly hated about WoW was having an Alt for every job I wanted to play.

So I do everything with Ugh, even though his MP blows.
