As a melee, if you're really hurting for accuracy at low level, try rice dumplings in exp parties. It has Accuracy+5 and has the benefit of adding some hp, str, and atk. High accuracy items at such a low level don't do as much as boosting your str and attack. I learned that lesson in the dunes. Since all you fight are crabs and pugs for a good long while, and they have techniques which boost their defense greatly...you're gonna see a lot more 0's than you'd like. Rice Dumplings > all because it gives you some accuracy without sacrificing atk strength.

Since last year's update, that has been the case.
When I was leveling my DRK long time ago (Early 2004) I used mithkabobs at level 2. Yes, I know, you're wondering why.
Anyway, I've never had so much power in my life. I literally one-shotted crawlers at level 3. I doubt I can do this now with any kind of food or equipment.

I just hit level 10 on my MNK. Okay, for the first 9 levels, I was exclusively leveling with Fruit Punches, that Rare +0 Dmg, +0 Delay, +3 Acc knuckle. I got it for about 25K a long time ago and now it's 50K on the AH in Windy.
Was it worth it? I honestly can't say, but for that one level from 9 to 10, I used a bronze knuckle. To me, the trade off was a slight delay, but for bigger damage and criticals. I'm not imagining that ... it was just the way I saw how I was performing.
Going to Tropical Punches (40K on AH), I see more improvement in accuracy, less delay and the damage (Going from +2 to +1) didn't seem a big matter. However, I can't wait for a few more levels when I can use the Kingdom Cesti and make that comparison. I'm already having a good sense on just how much trade off you make for delay and damage. It seems that the MNK job class can fill their damage potential nicely (Not like the DRK job class) and that makes it even trickier to decide just how much damage you'd want to take in exchange for ever increasing delays per swing.
Counter is nice. I've totally forgotten about that I've yet to see Subtle Blow work as advertised. Either goblins start with a lot of TP before you engage them or Subtle Blow is broken.
