MNK was 10 and WAR was 16 in April 2005. It's now October 2005 (6 months passed) and Im MNK 54 and WAR 27, Ochuido Kote and Jujitsu Gi took me 1-2 months to get ><; I'm debating on what weapon to get, Im using Hooks+1 and Hooks+2 is freaking 1.5million, then I was gonna get Spartan's (they were 1.0 mil when I checked last month) but they've shot up to over 2 mil real fast for some dumb reason.

1 week to get warrior to 35. 3 weeks to get monk from lvl 5 - 75. I bought all my gear using my main character first so I did not have to worry about farming the items.

This is a very good question! If you already have job Lv.60+ and have a lot of resourses, you can for go the farming, and just level away. But if it's your first time, and you level 10 levels, then have to take a break to farm for upcoming gear, it will take a tad longer.

But if you're Lv.75, and just want another job to level you could breeze through because you already have a good grip of gil you could spend on gear.

It took me a month to get to Lv.30. I then leveled DRK to Lv.51. I leveled RDM to Lv.36 in a week, and then I was out of the game for a year. I came back and then in 6.5 weeks I leveled RDM to Lv.60. That included farming for my 8 Elemental staves and so on. (Yeah, I know RDM gets faster invites than MNK, just stating that it can be done quickly.)

Monk is finnaly 60 after about 7-8 months of playing

took me a couple of weeks and the whole of xmas break stuck at 58 powerlvling cooking and lfg

I'll bite. It took me about a year to hit 60 WHM, including a break at level 30 to level SMN, a break at level 40 to mess around with melee jobs, then finding a static at 50 and doing tons of AF quests.

SMN took me about 3 months to hit 60 on. I breezed through it fairly fast, and didn't have to stop to farm. MNK probably took me 5 months time to hit 60 on, but I only started playing it after I had plenty of money. Then I staticed with another melee friend on it, which considerably slowed us down, but meh, it was fun at least.

Took quite a while for me. MNK was the job I started the game with, but I put it aside when I heard so many n00bs talking smack about Galka mages and decided to prove them wrong. Once I got BRD, WHM, and BLM all to 75, I finally returned to my roots.

All told, it took me almost two years to level MNK from 1 to 75.

And yes, Redlimit, I still use a little +DEX gear in my MNK getup. I turned out just fine

I've been playing since retail, and I started war... to 18 for sub, then mnk to 30. Then took a break from melee and started my mage jobs and playing around with other jobs... and now, after three two/three month breaks I'm finally 57 mnk... kinda hit a stop despite the possiblity of bone parties, just haven't had the luck I've needed.

Two and a half years as well. But I'm still like 18k from 60. And still havn't done G3.

I started out as a level one monk in December of 2003 and I remember it well. Along with getting owned by those massive Treant things. This was just before my second semester, junior year, at school.

Then the lag from my school computer went crazy.

Then I had to study, but then summer 2004 came and went, and I leveled.

Then came my senior year of school with crazy courses and lots of stuff to look forward to. I still played some, and by Feb 2005 I had the early bits of my AF and level 54.

Graduation came along with the Summer of 2005 and I found a real job. I got level 56 the week before I got married. I kept playing some, but then I started looking for a house, and playing went on hold again.

I got level 57 sometime back in February of 2006. I just dinged 58 last week and should be 59 or 60 sometime this month. But then there is mother's day and a house to take care of. And I blew way too much money on leathercrafting from 10-15 that I need to replace.

So, in essence, all that time and a lot of real life stuff. I still love monk, and I'll have it to 75 before they shut down the servers, but it may take me another two and a half years.

Who cares? I love my job, and, of course, Ugh.
