  • Dune Boot NM

    I checked these forums
    I asked friends online
no one seems to know how the NM spawns
I check QSC everyday and do not see it ever
I kill cactuars to see if i can pop it, no luck
so I'll know to know how to spawn this NM

everyoen tells me "o, I fiund it up one day and killed it"
they do not know how it spawns themselves
any info regarding how this NM spawns and its respawn timer please

    thank you

Kill the two Cactuars in his room, he's a lottery of those 2, and onry those two. I beleive they're at F-7 on the forth map. You'll also need to kill the spiders that pop in the hallway, which is where I reccomend you drag the Cactuars to.

    Have fun.

Sorry newbish question =/ These are the level 70 Rare/Ex. boots right? If so.... What do they do? >_<. I would assume raise kick attacks power, but I just wanna be sure. And are they even worth getting?

Definitely worth it. add +40 to Kick Attacks. Your kicks will be harder than your punches.

I 70 Galka Mnk in my LS got these last night. His kicks were doing 140-160 in a garlaige coffer party, and his Dragon Kick did 1400+ iirc.

how is the drop on these boots? what kinda force (lvl, amount of people, ect) is needed to kill this?

Wow, MNK has some nice gear if you can get your hands on it. Between this and black belt, that's already two free items that are utterly awesome. Well, free in the sense that you don't really have to pay real gil for them.

People have tested the boots with Dragon Kick... it's not affected by the boots. He just landed a really nice (maybe double-attack?) set of hits on that one.

I didn't know that the boots didn't effect Dragon Kick, but I have a question about kick itself. I know double attack can go off during weapon skills, can kick?

As for the damage, it probably was a sweet hit, but I don't know what level the coffer droppers are, but I'll guess they're significantly lower than 70.

                    Drop is 100%

I'd say about 10 level 70 could handle it easy. Or just bring as many people as possible. It spams 1000 needles. When we were there killing the NM, some group was going to Dainslaif NM (they were going the wrong way, too). Showed up, there were like 30 people in the room, and the damage output was very low. He's not too hard, himself. Don't remember any 2H move, just the 1000 (yes, NOT 10,000 like people claim, thats Cactrot Rapido) needles move. We've killed it for every monk in my ls (3 of us) with 10-12 people, easy.

As for pop information, it's in Western Altepa G-5 entrance (pass Kuftal Tunnel zone), through the first weighted door. This is the level 60-62 exp zone, too.

Both times i've been there, the NM has been there too.

NM isnt too bad, just bring enough people to disipate the dmg of the needles. Its a lotto pop, sometimes hes there, sometimes he aint. Go after a server restart and he'll be there within a few hours for sure. Its approximately +25ish dmg to kick attacks, not +40, only does slightly more then feral fangs per hit. But still enough to be the most powerful single melee attack from a monk. Very nice boots, if a monk doesnt use these its because he doesnt have them or doesn't believe in "hidden effects" :x

I've read it was +40. Kung Fu Shoes adding +20, Wu-Long shoes adding +30 and then the Dunes adding +40.

If you see the dmg difference between dune boot kicks and feral fangs/cc/etc (+19dmg), the Dune Boots couldn't possibly be +40 dmg, its more then any single hit, but not >that much< more then +19 dmg. (unless all my kicks have been on the low end of the Dune Boots dmg curve, possible although unlikely) and with the hidden effect as it is, it is hard to be 100% sure on their +dmg, and I've never used Wu Long or Kung Fu shoes- so could not comment. Could be +40dmg, although I highly doubt it given the small difference in per hit dmg from +19 and dune boots.

Wu long shoes +1 = Dune boots :spin:
