I'm not sure if the gilfarmers are purposely raising the prices. Stroper has 2 seperate gilfarmer PARTIES camping him. Mee deggi has anywhere from 4-6 in the same party camping him as well. I didn't really wanna turn this into a gilfarmer thread.

I don't think lakshmi's economy isn't too bad. I mean, there's gotta be worse..right?...RIGHT?

Other things raising in price:
I bid 730k on spartan cesti and didn't get it...it's originally 650-690k.

Emperor's Hairpin went from 490k to 600k-ish...

Things are only gonna go downhill from here.. >_<

If it makes you feel better, the cesti are down from 1.2 mil a month or 2 ago. But yeah, our server's economy is seriously ruined. There are literally 30-50 gil farmers on our server, and God only knows how many fish botters.

Who says that gil farmers don't hurt the economy? This is the exact reason why a lot of NA FFXI players are leaving and playing games like WoW and EQ2. Squaresoft has the ability to stop the gil farmers, but they don't do shit. This is because there's anywhere between 20-50 gil farmers on any server at any time. There are 32 servers. And in order to get 50 gil farmers on a server, there needs to be different accounts. So let's calculate this, 50 gil farmers, times 12.95 a month. That comes out to be $647.50 for the farmers to be on ONE server. So, if we factor in all of the servers, that makes $20,720 for squaresoft PER MONTH. Square isn't going to give up on these gil farmers that easily, but with all the characters that are leaving, square will lose probably a few hundred grand a month. I'm predicting that after WoW and EQII come out, and square loses that few hundred grand, then the prices will drop because square will realize that it needs to get rid of the gil sellers in order to make the people that pay for the game, and play the game within the TOS, and spend hours farming for equipment, to stay with them and continue feeding them money each month.
