omg you guys seriously must be retarded, im sorry but how could you miss interpret the meaning of my post so horridly.

In my original post i said nothing about my gear or anything.

This guy comes on and just because i say its near impossible to go for the best equip ywith your first character ever, and it would be a much better strat. to get a few levels so making gil is easier for the great equip.

then he flames me calling me lazy, says people like me make him wanna work hard for gil so he can have the best equip when he hits the level.

THEN!!!! after all of that i post in defense that i am not lazy and here are the reason, i make a sarcastic (but true) evaluation about my own gear, just like he did only my gear is worth bragging about and his lvl 20 gear anyone could have. I then state bragging is not attractive because his original post was a brag about his so called great gear.


MY ENTIRE POINT: (witch i only made because i had the exsact same mind set as this guy when i first started)

Going for the best gear your first time through will burn you out, not only that i found myself way behind all my friends who (for lack of a better word) gimped themselves to 60 before i hit level 40. they then at 60 were able to make way more gil (before a fgriend taught me the art of gardening) then me, and they had all that great equip for their second character but also a level 60 character in full Af so gear didnt really matter to that character.

come see me on titan, and everyone will tell you im one of the most helpfull players they have met in game.


wow im am seriously shocked so many missunderstood my post when i figured it was plotted out very clearly if you just read it carefully you will get that the laying down of my gear was by no means a way to show off, but to show how ugly bragging is.

Just to bring it up, Arrows and Knuckles are weak against high def mobs such as beetles and crabs. Daggers too because of their low base damage. Thats why people think that they suck against crabs but if you have enough +STR and +atk you do just fine against them. And get used to fighting them... you will be for a LONG time.

but you are the one who thinks i have archer's rings (wtf are those its archer's daggers fool) when i never even posted the word archer in any of my post.

and goto the rng board and ask how many have hawker's+1, not many.... at least 4 motnhs ago when i last exped my rng.

dex effects accuracy for meelee attacks and % of critical hits and how often you get hit with a critical, it effects nothing else (oh and thf's sa is based on dex)

I dont like threads bragging about your gear when your lvl 20, not even 1/10 through the leveling process.

I am the furtherst thing from an elitist (dam more simple god more simple) i am not a arrogant player (dam still to complicated) I am a nice guy in the game

Far too often, I find myself in Qufim parties with other MNKs that have sub-par gear. I often double-damage them and take far less damage from mobs. People in my parties always check me and say "hey, nice gear". In my lvl 20 parties, I do as much or more damage than anyone in it, sometimes including BLMs. I receive tons of praise from strangers everyday and it reminds me why I chose to play the right way. I only wish I would for once see another lvl 20 MNK that did the same..."

^^^ that was his first post, its two lines saying how he wanted to strive to be the best (started off honrably) then its 15 lines talking about his gear and how others dont have it, and how he doubles people in damage and takes less damage (is that possible, i mean if ur doing that much damage then your gonnahave more hate then the guy who isnt doing more damage, but im sure he meant when they take damage and when he takes damage he just worded it off) and how he wishes others would catch up to his quality of gear.

At level 25 thf i farmed for things like balance rings, EH, and LB. People really should put some work into their equipment instead of rushing to be level 75 >< I didn't care if other thfs (or any job really) didn't have things like EH and LB, I just went all out; however people should keep things like rings upgraded and other decent gear. For example after reaching 36, people should ditch the balance rings and farm for defts.
BTW speaking of gimp, any thf level 45+ w/o EH and/or LB need to be choked, THII is amazing.

I wasn't sure what you meant there thegod, you do know that there are archers knives and archers rings right? -_- the rings are acc +2 and rng acc+2 and drop off stroper. They are used to make snipers.

Now that I read through your posts again I do see your point... vaguely. Well theres a better way to make a point besides flaming someone and then presenting the point. You've lost your audience in all the flaming.

Roxtar what I think hes trying to say is...

1) That your gear isn't uber, in his opinion, unless you have all the insanely expensive gear that would take you months to farm on your own. And regarding the point about farming, he says it would be easier for you to farm if you got your job to a higher level since that opens up a lot more possibilities for farming.

What he failed to understand is that you don't want to get by on cheap gear till you reach that level.

2) You hit him on a sensitive spot when you said you outdamaged all other classes that you've partied with including BLMs coz you see that all his jobs are DD and he naturally assumed RNG even though you didn't mention that you partied with one. He also has a point in saying that the only ranger you would have outdamaged is the one that wasn't equipped well. But he shouldn't really be complaining because he's the one preaching that you should level up quickly before farming for all your uber gear.

Forget BLMs as regular DDs. Besides dealing Elemental Damage they also have to ensure that your attacks hit harder by casting Enfeebling Magic when there isn't anyone else to do it. So yes occasionally a BLM might not do as much 'damage.' But in the right situation they can deal more damage than the rest of the party put together. Its just that stealing hate isn't good for BLMs. Honestly I can take on Tough Worms (whole drain in mp and hp tho) as my Lv24 BLM.

thegod, heh what a lovely name you have there. It was nice of you to try and show this player an alternative to all the farming he is doing, but you should have done it in a less discouraging manner. My first impression I got when I read your post was

'OMG you suck because you don't have $10000000 gear and I'm great because I do and you're a loser for farming all your gear at this low level'

Even though now I see where you are coming from I'm still not going to take back what I said about you.

True BLM is not a DD only job, and we do help others do alot more damge then they normally can (witch is why i switched from rng, witch is a pure DD and nothing else, oh and puller =p)

Hey if you can stick with that attitude to end game w/o getting burned out, more power too you, me myself i find that farming is the worst way to make gil, BCNMs are much better, gardening is the best IMO.
