Galka monk, ONO, OYEZ?

At about LV60. An elvaan will have 7 more MND than a Galka. We don't have any LV75 Galka on my server, so if anyone would like to share their base MND with a Mnk/whm combo, please do so. With my 75mnk/35whm, my base MND is 71. Let's say it's 10 more MND, that's a significant upgrade.

Having said that, I didn't know Galka had the 2nd higher MND, that was my mistake.

And I agree, looks means a lot. Afterall, you have to look at that character 99% of the time, you will suffer if you don't like how your character looks. I have always liked Elves (Elvaans) in any RPGs, EQ I was a Woodelf, p&p D&D, I was an elf...

You did nothing of the sort, you posted "galkas are ugly~ elvaan are less ugly." and then left. Now that I slapped you with a "WTF?!" now it's "oh oh oh you're personally attacking me!"

The man will play, most likely as most of us did, the race that "does it" for him. For me it was Mithra (cuz I foolishly thought DEX actually mattered in hit rate) for Effen it was Elvaan because he likes Elvaan of lore (though this game is completely opposite of Elvaan lore) and for Dai it was Galka.

You don't need to be a Yale grad to have respect for someone's damned post, and actually post on topic what at least some type of sensical reply.

This doesn't mean crap if you don't have the right gear and know how to play your job =P. I rather pick a experienced Taru monk than a dumb Elvaan or Galka monk any day.

Heh your right. Being a Galka monk isn't fun for me if you can barely see the enemy :sweat:. I was on this situation before and I always picked Elvaan because they make the "best stat wise fighters" but I never really liked there stances and the way they did things. I learned that the hard way and I had to start over and became the race I am comfortable with which is hume .

I agree with, looks > stats.

I studied more about what all the races looked like as a mnk than I ever did looking at stats, before I even made my character. I don't really care about stats myself. For me it was between Hume or Mithra, since I think they look the best as mnks, be it wearing of mnk equipment, battle stances, emotes, weapons skills or anything. But since I wanted to be a male character, Hume was for me.

Galka MNK at lvl 75 with WAR sub have 73 STR base. And with WHM sub have 67 MND base. Only 2 STR and 4 MND different between Elvaan not 10 MND like Effen always dream off. We all know that Effen is big fan of long neck running Elvaan. If you don't know the base stats of each race Effen please just shut it and stop bashing other race because they are NOT Elvaan long neck.

heh im glad someone else notice the unnautraly long necks on elvaans.

when i bought the game i so wanted to be an elvaan, untill when making my character something seemed strange, he stood way too straight backed and his neck was double the size of hume necks...lol

oh and read the guys post about why he hates his level 75 elvaan drk.

it made a lil sense.

elvaan have stat strengths in opposite areas.

i.e. high str low dex

high mind low int and mp

when galkas and tarus have perfect stats

hight vit and hp for galks

and high int and mp for tarus

mithra do well to with high dex and agi, those stats dont directly affect each other, but they dont oppose each other either

humes are the norm.

The main problem with Galka monk at end game is MND. When most monks are trying to find as much MND gear for Chi Blast, Galka will have a tough time with their low base.

This is incorrect. Galkas actually have the second highest base MND stat of all the races (tied with Humes).

I might be wrong being that it's been such a long time since I've played. But I thought the difference between Monk hume/galka and elvaan's base mnd at lvl 75 was more than 4.

well before you can even think about end game, you have to look at your character's as s for months and months while you level him up. So think about it, you want a slim one, or a meaty one with sausage?
