45 Monk, best equipment?

I'm an elvaan mnk, 45, trying to find out whats the best gear i can have right now. My current equipment is:

Weapon : Mythril Knuckles +1
Head : Windhurstian headgear
Neck : Spike Necklace
Ear : Beetle Earring +1 x2
Body : Jujitsu Gi
Hands : Ochuidos Kote
Rings : Pussiance ring +1 x2
Back : Wolf Mantle +1
Waist : Brown Belt
Legs : Jujitsu Sitibaki
Feet : Windhurstian Kayahn +1

Against T's and VT's, i am an unmatched damage machine, hitting most of the time and doing 3/4 the damage of a drk, per fist, faster. However, against IT's, i miss a lot, but do decent damage when i hit. Being an Elvaan, my str is already really high, but i have low dex. Would dex rings be a better move against IT's, assuming i can't afford sniper rings? Or would toughing it out until 48, and stash away the brown belt in favor of a life belt? Any suggestions?

Well, you can always throw in a peacock charm in there. And fuma boots might be a better option.

im using snipers x2 which kind of totally crush puissance rings. it your going for best gear i would aim for those.

i've got SOME money, but im not clentching my butt cheeks to stop from crapping gil everywhere, i can't afford snipers or a peacock yet, lol, i guess its time to farm stroper chyme for the archer ring.

Sniper's are a must for us Elvaan imo. I have 2, Life Belt, AF Body and Spartans and still have Accuracy issues. I'm working on buying Spectacles next.

Yes.. i've got similar eq too at 43. but i got the haste boots instead. I've problem hitting IT mob... quite a few misses and i always con them as low def but no low evasion, fortunately, no high eva IT xp mob i've seen much yet which means my Accuracy is still decent and not so bad.

I think upgrading the 2 rings to sniper ring would be the best option but it's very costly . Peakcock charm would be the best too but that again is toooo expensive even to think of.

yea imo without either snipers or life belt, and just str, your acc. rate on IT is god awful ugly. mnks i have pt with going that route i really just embarrass. specially if you elvaan, snipers are kind of a must as one of the above posters has mentioned. once i hit 48 i plan on switching life with of brown^^. that wont be for a while though cause i've got to get cooking to 60, woodworking to 73, and around half way through lu shangs quest. -_-;. yay fishing and crafting!!! /cheer

If there are any Hume MNKs out there thats wondering, my experience with the Life Belt gives me decent accuracy. I still miss a few here and there tho so I'm thinking of getting the sniper rings. We have slightly more DEX than elvaan but I'm not really sure thats good enough to forsake a sniper ring.

lvl48 is where you get good equip. Besides the life belt I currently changed the Patas +1 (had Mythril knuckles +1 earlier) and the jump from 10 to 15 DMG is pretty significant. Too bad we lose the Acc Bonus tho.

Pretty good stuff there.

You can tough out the accuracy issues until 48; life belt + jujitsu gi is enough to get you by until you can afford sniper's rings (I got mine at 59). Patas +1 are good to use, at 50 you get tct. magician's hooks, which are nice, and at 52 you can upgrade to the +2 version. You can get sun rings at 54 for a cheaper version of the puissance rings.

At 55 you get spike earrings, then at 58 you get Spartan Cesti. Sometime before 60 you *will* want sniper's rings; at that level you start fighting velociraptors in valley of sorrows and toramas in labyrinth of onzozo; sniper's are a *must* for you to feel good about yourself here.

You'll get your first taste of what 60-64 is like accuracy-wise while camping your Beadeaux coffer key. The platinum quadavs there have similar evasion, relative to the level you are when fighting them, to the aforementioned raptors/toramas. You will cry every time you miss (as in, COMPLETELY miss) raging fists versus these.

For reference, at 61 I now have +35 accuracy from gear (life belt, sniper's x2, spectacles, temple cyclas, cross-counters). I haven't had a chance to xp since buying the spectacles, but I think this setup'll be fairly comfortable till 64 (when I think people go to processionaires or korrigans or something like that in boyahda tree).

After that point I think you're done fighting THF-type mobs, so the evasion drops back to normal (keep in mind a THF mob has three evasion bonuses at that level, and a higher evasion rating to begin with, effectively having ~75 more evasion than a warrior monster at around that level).

Personally, I'm planning on keeping all my +accuracy gear, so that while fighting bones to level up in the late 60s / 70s the blind they have won't matter all that much.

Anyway, you're doing well gear-wise, you may want to look into fuma kyahan (fairly common for elvaan around that level).

My current plan is to get 2 Deft Rings (for +6 DEX) and a Jujitsu Gi, which should hopefully last me to 48, at which time I'll switch out to Life Belt and STR rings. Plus, Focus should help.

Might i suggest an Emp Pin possibly? the +3 DEX will help some and evasion is always nice for when you get too much hate from the mob
