Even the shots that were obvious that only 1 of the set fired hit the damage difference was still noticable an 80 vs. 100.
EDIT:
You can REALLY see how Attack and STR affects you when you are under lv. 30 and use foods and have around +7 or more in STR.
Without food or use of Berserk my average attack and WS did the same amount of damage. When you pile a massive amount of attack on the WS ends up tripling or even quadrupling in damage.
Doing WAR/NIN without food, the two axes hit on average for 20s. My WS would go from 18-30 at 100% TP. Now use Berserk and eat mithkabob, attack per hit went only to 30s (Makes sense since food give +5 STR) my WSs however would hit for 100 - 140.
That I remember well because every party I got in always seemed shock to see a lv. 20 getting out 100+ damage and not being a Mage or RNG.
EDIT AGAIN:
So to my logic I just it far more beneficial to a MNK to pump STR up and for boosts to his WSs the use of Boost/Berserk (if /WAR)/Mithkabobs seemed to be a much better route. Unless, of course, the MNK is attack with WSs right when he gets them and not focused to much on skillchains then pumping Attack could be of better use to them.
Or the MNK could carry two sets ones to boost STR very high for their normal damage and one to boost Attack very high for their WS.
