Well recently ive been stuck at 55(for about 2 weeks now!) Takes forever to get a party now adays, luckly my rdm friend is getting close, so i can tag along with him when he gets his invites =)

but anyway, back to the topic, lately it seems like every party i join i do raging fists all by myself while the thief and ranger(usually party with a thief friend of mine) do the skill chain. But on the days they arnt around, what is the best skillchain combo for a monk? I know once i get howling fists me and the thief will have fun with distortion. Right now its either i go by myself or with the pld whenever he gets 100 tp, which isnt often it seems like =) So is a war or maybe a drg and good party member for raging fists?

One other question, usually in a party with a drk(after 60) will he be the one subbing thief? I sure dont want to level thief more, 25 was hard enough. It seems like a lot of loss for the monk to sub thief instead of war, mainly the double attack and beserk(gosh i love seeing 4 hits plus a kick in a round =)

LoL, one more thing, headgear for my monk is killing me, been leveling low level mages, its killed my gil supply(that and cooking =) I have everything top notch(2 snipers, masters gi, brown belt, blah blah blah) but i have the merc captain headgear. Currently the emp pin is out of my budget, should i keep with the captains headgear until i get my AF headgear or is there something better out there? I dont look at defense now, only look at the stats and what they can do for me, which is wierd because i still see monks whering, granted its the highest level armor for them, but it adds nothing to thier stats? thats always confused me, so what if my defense is worse than a whms, lets just pray i dont get too much hate and my ton of HP will help me survive =)

Raging Fists is a good source of damage, but really not the best for skill chaining, which is why at those levels, most parties just ask you to spam your weapon skills solo. I found that if a party really needed me to chain, that I used Backhand Blow much more than Raging, as it can make some decent enough chains, non that I can remember right now though..

Subbing THF is entirely up to you. I personally think it's better off to wait till level 65 for Dragon Kick, if THF is really a sub you want to use.

And as for the head gear, just stick with merc. I know you've probably used it forever and you want something else (I used mine forever and it drove me nuts), but there is a lack of other options really. Because of your level as well, forking out for Emp now would be a waste. Just bear with it till you get AF.
