Feet is kind of a weird equipment slot for MNK. Our AF and AF2 feet all have 'selfish' abilities (Enhances Dodge, Enhances Counterstance, Guard++, etc)...these are all very good effects, but don't really affect your damage output in any way - and thats what people in an EXP party are going to want to see.
Fuma Kahyan are excessive most of the time, 3% Haste isn't worth making a big deal over.
This leaves us with Kung Fu Shoes, Dune Boots, etc.
Do they increase kick damage? Yes. They do not increase the ammount of times you kick however. They are also for the most part, stupidly expensive for their limited effect.
I've seen MNK that are happy with them, but for the most part I stuck with AF (and now AF2).
No matter what you have equiped there, you won't be getting much out of your Feet equipment slot as a MNK.Vargas 75 MNK - Ragnarok (Retired)

Mithra RSE. STR is effecting every hit you land. Kung Fu Shoes only affect dmg on kicks, which are random.

I'm still confused on what to use in my hand slot...Kote, AF gloves, or Giant Bracers @.@;
personally my ideal set up for my MNK at lvl 60 is this....
Spartan Cesti
Bomb Core will be sitting in stash...
AF pants/boots/helm
Scorp Harness
Kote or AF gloves or the +9 STR bracers? I just can't choose...need help! lol
Sniper's Rings
Specticles
Brown Belt
Amemit's Mantle waiting in stash
problem with this setup though...is that I only have +6 STR with the kote (with +29 acc and +42 attack...)...or AF gloves (+10 STR, +29 acc, +22 attack) or the bracers (+15 STR, +22 attack, +27 acc) or I could use Spike Coller for another point of acc and some more STR instead of specs...
I'm really confuzed on gear setups, but I know I want to use my sniper's...
the main things I can play around with are gloves and neck piece...Specticles or Spike Coller? (I have +22 acc w/o the specs, I'd get 1 acc and that +3 STR from the coller...or more accuracy)
kote gives a nice attack bonus, but are the giga's bracers better? It's all so confusing to me...(+42 attack or +15 STR, it's a hard choice...)Most memorable WoW vent convos on Burning Legion:

At lvl 60 I definately wouldn't be using the Kote anymore. Hell, I got rid of mine at 50. Granted, *I* may have gotten rid of them a little early, but at 54 I was planning on switching to AF and never looking back anyway. I'm using the +7 bracelets right now, and I quite like them.
I just did Mission 5.1 with another Elvaan Monk on my server, and he had virtually identical equipment to mine, except he was using kote and I was using the +7 str bracelets, and we were pretty much dead even for damage during that fight. I edged out in the end, because we both used Raging Fists and the end of the battle, and mine was about 200 damage stronger, but other than that, we were pretty much equal. So, I'm happy with my choice.75mnk/37whm/37war/37nin/21thf/17blm/10sam/10brd/4drg/4bst/3drk/1everythingelse

if I have sniper's ring sand Scorp Harness do yall think it'd be wise to use Spike Coller instead of Specs in my neck slot? The +acc on MNK weapons along with it's +DEX negates the -DEX on the bracers also...Most memorable WoW vent convos on Burning Legion:

I normaly use Kote, Snipers, and a Life belt. But i bought a brown belt and some str+4 rings and used my af gloves to test this "Str is kewl theory". My str was 68+26 with all this.
Besides missing a whole bunch more I didnt notice much of an improvement =\
This is with a bard btwBut Id take a guess that on ro'maeve weapons instead of doing 50-80 a fist with a hit rate o around 70% with my normal equips, I would do...... I dunno 60-80 and hit bout 30% o time with Str equips.
Dragon kick does around 400-650 with my normal equips and.... i never got back 11tp with str equips so it was kinda embarrsing doing 120-300 kicks
Maybe its just a bone thing or maybe we should be just chaining VTs but i dont think str items are all that hot.
Just my two cents ^^b

So..... what you're saying is if you don't have any accuracy equipment and all +strength equipment you're not going to be very accurate and thus you don't think strength items are all that hot? Okay whatever. Let me guess dexterity items are awesome right?
When will you people learn? Balance, balance, balance, balance, balance is the keyJust do it.

I agree-- the proper balance is essential. No one stat overpowers the others by so much and is so available that it completely disregards the need for all other stats. My question is:
When will 2.0 learn?
You catch more flies with honey. If you're just trying to stick to the logic and the fact of the matter, you could lose the attitude. Trust me, we won't miss it.

New to the World of MMORPG's
I new tot the world I have never had a credit card and my parents never would of never have let me waste money on a game that I had to continusly pay to play with the other games I used to paly on console and stuff... I first want to thank this guy with all of this info and I hope it will help me out in the future with this game. I can now say I'm addicted to the world of mmorpg and final fanstay weird thing is that I've only been playing final fantsay for about 1 year ( FFX not online ) on and off because I get frusturated but I find the online play much more to my liking it not the same thing in and out every day.. Now to get back to what I was saying before I want to thank this guy for all the info about monks that is the first job I started out with I'm also a hume if you haven't see my character <<<<... I will use this info to help my character.
I do have a couple questions:
#1. What does ranks actually do but help you along in the game?
#2. Is it good to keep the monk all the way though or at lvl 20 switch to warrior or another job.
#3. Can you swtich to more then 2 job and you eventually do all of them.
#4. Besides doing quest and stuff is there anyway to get more then 6 gil for killing creatures.. or other things
Tanks I'm sure I'll have more questions when I keep plaing and maybe some time you will see me on there

#1 - Rank is basically used as a general guide to how far along your character is (rank missions get progressively harder, so if someone has say, Rank 7, you can guess they have at least one job around 60+) and it can also be a source of income (you get gil for completing new ranks). Rank 5 also carries a powerful meaning as you also get an Airship Pass for free, as opposed to paying a very large ammount for it.
#2 - Assuming Monk is going to be your first job you want to take far in the game, I would get it anywhere from 18-20 and make sure to get the subjob quest done (info about that can be found all over the internet). At that point I would switch to Warrior and get to at least 15. Once you do that you can tank Monk all the way to level 30 safely, and you can get some of the advanced jobs and see if you like any of them. If not, then you can go back to leveling up Monk(75) and Warrior(37) to your content.
#3 - You can level up as many jobs as you want. Simply go into your mog house and choose to "Change Jobs". You can set your job/subjob (once you have unlocked subjobs) at any time. Each jobs level is seperate from each other, so even if you have a level 75 Monk, if you decide to play Red Mage, it will start off at level 1. But if you go back to the Monk it will still be at 75. This means you can change jobs freely, but it gets expensive and hard to store different equipment for many jobs, so most people stick to 2 or 3 jobs at first until you can afford it and store all of the items.
#4 - The best way to make early money is selling crystals. Each time you leave your hometown, make sure you talk to a guard near the exit who can give you Signet. This makes crystals drop from enemies when they die. Sell stacks of 12 crystals at the Auction House.
Another way to make money early on is look for the repeatable quests in your hometown. Each of the 3 cities has one or two quests that are repeatable and take easy items. For example, there is a quest in Sandoria that requires 3 Rabbit Hides, and you get 120 gil. You can do this quest over again as many times as you want, and Rabbit Hides are easy to obtain just outside of Sandoria. Look at some quest lists in your hometown and see what you can do.Vargas 75 MNK - Ragnarok (Retired)

If any 1 has a site that tells what areas to go for particular skill up ranges r will be very glad thank you.
