  • Beginning to doubt the existence of Beadeaux coffer key...

    Sig says it all. I've spent nearly 10 hours there now, with no key drop...and I'm going insane...especially since I'm one of three people there who need it when we go (pld, mnk, whm). I've camped at the four doors room, and camped at the mute to the west of that area (seven or eight spawns around there).

    This coffer blows goats...

    Let's hear other stories of horrible coffer key hunts, I need some catharsis here.

    Actually, there's a definite way of getting a 100% key drop, but chances are, most THFs won't wanna help you, cause they'll be wasting a key and giving up a loot. Mimics drop keys 100%, or at least has been so for me for the past 4~5 mimics I've killed in alliance. Most people rather spend another hour looking at the coffer in front of the key hunt party and trying to get a key drop than to pop and kill a mimic which would save much more time IMO.

      Hmmm...what would be the best way to guarantee a mimic pop?

      I'm assuming a lower level thief would be the best bet....?

      Anyway, doesn't sound too likely heh, I'd be more than willing to buy some living keys to try at this point.

        Only took me five hours to get my key.

        ...But people either refused to help or were "busy" until I was level 60.

                  my ls gathered an event party, went to garliage, within 1 hour all 3 ppl including myself that needed a key got one...

                  few weeks later i was ready for a bead key, did a pickup party i saw forming, got 3 keys in 1 hour... the bead party actually took longer to form than it did to get the keys...

                  guess i'm just lucky.. lol even on hunts i don't need the keys always drop fast

                    it took me 5 hours to get the Beaudeux key.....kinda sucks but hang in there. I know a few people who have had it much worse. A WAR in my LS was in Eldieme for 51 hours, died 29 times until he got a key........

                    You'll get the key eventually, bring a high level thief for best chances, and maybe a WHM with smn sub just to be safe on pulls if you are in the square room. It is not fun when a Sapphire links and nukes away while you are fighting..... .

                    Anyways good luck. The one rewarding thing is that the coffer is so damn easy to find compared to the other places

                      day 1: got my shell to do the key hunt, the party also include other people from outside, we had 2 thfs, hunted for 5 or so hours, no drop, pulled a link, all dead, frustrating night

                      day 2: Only shell members, got the key on the first kill, no thf no sub thf, just 1 kill, Lucky ? i dont know.

                          It really shouldnt be 'That' hard, when I did Beadaux I got my key within 35 minutes from the mage type quadav. *forgot the name*

                          But if it makes you feel any better Garligrage Cidadel took a very long time ; ;

                            1st time i went there was for the paladin in my set pt. It dropped after roughly 1.5-2 hours. I passed because i felt it was more important that our tank have his AF piece than it was for me to have mine.

                            We were 59-60 and xp was actually decent. We started late, and another key for me(whm) did not drop.

                            We ended up going again ... and again.. and again. Total time spent getting my key was probably 17-20 hours. Most of us hit lvl 60 cap on xp. One of the times we went we had an alliance of 8 with a thf in the group for about 2 hours... and still didnt drop. =x

                            Finally got it tho after putting in what seemed a rediculous amount of time, all done with AF now. ^^

                            Good luck to you getting yours... seems to be really random. The night i actually got mine another pt said they got 3 in 4 hours. -_-;
