Selling my Kotes. What should I get instead?

I've done all the thinking and came to terms that for 470,000 gil (I paid 550,000... grr...) I can probably get some nicer gear. Currently I am: Hume 52Mnk/25War. I have AF1 (crappy Beat Cesti) and AF2 (Temple Gaiters) and am gonna get the gloves this weekend. Equip is as follows:

Weapon: Tactician Magician Hooks +1
Head: Mercenary Captain Headpeice
Neck: Spike Necklace
Earring 1: Beetle Earring +1
Earring 2: Beetle Earring +1
Body: Jujitsu Gi
Hands: none
Ring 1: Garnet Ring
Ring 2: Garnet Ring
Back: Ram Mantle
Belt: Life Belt
Pants: Jujitsu Sitabaki
Feet: Temple Gaiters

Now with 470,000 what do you think I should get? Some burning questions:
Enkelados's Bracelets vs Temple Gloves: Str+7 Dex-4 vs Str+4 Boost enhance. My boots already give +3 dex.
Emperor's Hairpin vs Temple Crown: +3 Dex +3 Agi +10 Evasion vs MND+5 and Focus enhance.

There are a lot more equipment decisions and it would be a lot easier to answer probably at level 61 or so (all the choices would be open) but as of now, I'm at a delay. At level 52 I don't have many options to upgrade, such as Master's Gi, Master's Sitabaki, Sun Rings, Fang Earrings, etc. But I do have some choices to make with the upcoming influx of money and myself being glove-less.

Does anyone have any input?

First thing you shouldn't screw yourself like that. You paid over half a mill for the kote. You should get at least half a mill back.

I don't like the +strength/-dexterity ratio of enkalado's bracelet so I wouldn't get that. The emperor's hairpin not really needed either. Just keep doing what you normally do for money (Farming,BCNM,Crafting or whatever) to buy the regular stuff and keep saving I guess. If you want you could buy a sniper ring though I don't think it's necessary for a monk.

Save money when you get to 55 and do the brown belt quest. It's cool how monk doesn't have to spend a lot of money to be pretty good. If you're smart about it. Keep saving til 60 so you can get Spartan Cesti and Spectacles.

Or if you're feeling crazy you're about at the level where you can take Argus safely. A peacock charm can go a long way.

There's almost no way I could get half a million back. The price is now roughly 430,000... 470k is pushing it to get that money back.

The ratio for STR/DEX isn't too bad. I have +8 dex currently so now I'd only have +4 dex with +7 Strength. I really don't think Sniper Ring is needed for monk. 5 accuracy in exchange for 4-5 strength. I prefer the STR rings + Life Belt combo over the Sniper rings + Brown Belt combo. Not only is it hella cheaper, but you can achieve higher strength with it. Which is why I don't want to blow 420,000 gil on Brown Belt.

Be smart. Get the Brown Belt for free by doing the quest. Then save up for spectacles+spartan cesti+amemit mantle.

do the quest? thats near impossible when half the ppl on the server also wanna do it and steal the nm's from you...

i'd keep your kote till 54, then get 1 sniper ring, and if your luckier than me 1 brown belt too, sniper ring is 400k, and brown belt is 250k on ragnarok

People who buy the brown belt had to get it from somebody. It didn't just appear from thin air. So it's wise to save money is it not? A little competition isn't a bad thing either.

if you dont do the brown belt quest you cant do the black belt quest.


Even if the black belt quest seems beyond reach, after you've been 75 for a while it might happen if you hookup with the right people :-]

i never said i don't try, but i've hinted at being unable to do it...

malborger's a 24-36 hour spawn you know how much it breaks you when you see it spawn and someone else claims it?

If you don't have the patience to camp Molborger, then forget about doing a lot of things later on in the game. Besides, he isn't even that hard to camp. I spent a day or two finding out when his last spawn time was, and went there at the right time. Lost him to a THF the first time, but I came back 24 hours later and grabbed him with ease.

Ugh... I'm not getting a Brown Belt. I'm perfectly content with my Life Belt >.<

correction about morbolger being 24-36h
i camped morbolger for four days and he always spawned in a 21-24h window. if he's killed at 10pm monday, go back 7pm tuesday and you will most likely spot him within 3hrs.
