Coffer Help

Ok, I'm getting slightly annoyed and just wanted to confirm some information about finding a Garliage Coffer, I already have my key, but i'm having difficulty finding it...

first off this site

claims that there are 3 spawns beyond the first gate, and 4 spawns behind the 2nd for a total of 7 spawn points, is this correct?

also if a coffer is opened for obtaining AF is it an imidiate respawn?

and what's the respawn if the person opening the coffer doesn't get af?

is this coffer worth opening unless you need af? cause i checked all 7 of those spawn points several times, on multiple occasions and it's never there

Opening the coffer with no AF quest activated means the next spawn is in 30 minutes.

Coffer is like a chest with the exception it gives more gil and better items. Castle Oztroja coffer yields Astral rings... One of the harder coffers to get becuase of all the campers.

About the coffer spawns... just get past the door which leads to Saouramge Chapamnge(sp). You will of course need 3 other people to get there. Sneak and Invis till you get to the area. At that spot there are 3 Spawns. One by a ledge, dont drop down, one by the Ghost Mob, and one near the corner leading to the zone. If it isnt there, wait 30 minutes and check.

I dont know if it will randomly respawn somewhere else if it hasnt been touched.

first you need to enter gate1. from there you can either check the coffer spawns inside gate3 or gate2. to open the gates you need four people standing on separate switches. to open them without sneak/invis you need ~lv67+ if you're not this level; watch out for magic aggro. both pots and bombs guarding the switches.

nobody will open the coffers in garlaige for anything but af, it's too troublesome to go there and i don't think they yield anything good anyway.

as for af-coffer campers, i went to ragnarok's garlaige yesterday with my set. 2 people were camping inside gate2, with no coffer inside.. headed to gate3 and got my af there.

coffer respawn is 30-50min when opened for af, for lockpicking i'd say it's 20-30min from what i've experienced.

I got some LS mates to help me get parked behind banishing gate #3. Luckily, there is a lot of coffer hunting going on in Garlaige on Titan right now, so even though the coffer wasn't there when I got there, it did spawn there about 90 minutes later.

Unlike RSE, AF coffers are not quick respawn. Last night we took in five people, three of which needed coffer. We parked one person behind banishing gate #2, and the other four of us went behind banishing gate #3. There were 3-4 other people that night hunting coffers, so it ended up taking around five hours for our group to get our three coffers.

It ended up turning into an impromptu skillup party with the four of us behind BG#3 (mnk rdm blm pld), rdm worked on her badly lagging sword skill, I borrowed her dark staff for staff skill, and the blm worked on his club skill. Unfortunately, the pld did not have a great sword with him, but I assume he got some parry and shield skill, as the skeletons behind BG#3 are ~level 53-55.

Garlaige is probably the second-worst coffer to get, behind Oztroja, if we're going on a pain-in-the-ass scale. If you can get yourself parked behind BG#2 or 3, you'll get it eventually - just don't leave until you have it. Whm sub is invaluable, and it comes highly recommended to bring an instant warp scroll as well, but I'm sure you know that.

i war just running around behind first gate, happened to notice it on the drop down tunnel from behind gate 3...

so the wait began... waited the majority of the day untill someone came along and opened the 3rd gate... then raced to the coffer wondering wether or not they where trying to do the same

but i got it thx for the help

if anyone could do me a favor and ask another question, if i use focus while my crown is equippped, then switch back to emporers ping will the enhancement stay on the focus? or must the crown stay equipped?

that's how it works for boost, so i'm quite sure it's the same for focus and dodge as well.

wrong. coffer respawn time is completely random now, whether the last coffer was opened for AF or not. the 30 min deal was changed in the Dec patch, and no longer true. (and back when it was set to 30 min, it didn't make any difference whether the last one was opened for AF or not, it was solid 30 min for respawn.)

time for respawn is anytime within an hour from the last oepn, w/ the exception being when THF tried to open it w/ tools but failed and the trap set off, in which case the respawn time is "very short" according to the update info. (reported to be around 5 min.)
