Ok, what the hell is sun ring? I must've skipped it when I scan through the ring list on AH, or is it rare/ex? Been wondering what ring to get all the time...

I will probably go for sun rings + brown belt set too, as for accuracy, I haven't notice that much a problem... of course, I always compare myself to other members in party, with my bad equips(currently spending my life to earn up equips, so no word on my equips, ok? don't want the 'your equip sucked, shut up, n00b'), I already hit far more often than any hume/elvaan melee I partied with... but my damage is so low to be consider a damage dealer, so I'd go for full STR pump.

And yes, I am hunting my brown belt by quest... good for norg fame, and it's not like impossible when you have friends to enslave.

Ok, this is off topic, but what neckgear to get at 53... no I don't want DEF, or evasion, I am not a tank... accuracy is fine, since I will pump my STR/Attack through rings and stuffs.

Sun Ring = Req Level 54. STR +3, Fire Resist +7.

keep with the spike necklace(or whatever its called, the level 21 one) that adds +3 str, +3 dex, -6 mnd. Just make sure before every chi you unequip it since chi is effected by mnd.

About the belt + snipers rings combo. Thats 1.4mil on my server.

Personally, life belt + sun rings is just as good (before you say: NOOB U MAK US MONKZ LUK BAD,do you truly have 2million gil at level 40 for optimal equip? I doubt it.) and 8% haste isn't worth spending 1.4 mil, instead of spening around 120k (this is for the level 36 str rings, not 54 or whatever).

But if you're not on the most fucked up server around(that is, your sniper rings dont cost 500k), midgardsormr, then go ahead and do belt+rings.

To me, as a mithra, I'd prefer the attack speed, even though I am not 100% accuracy, but I am happy with my 60% accuracy, I can hit enough to get TP to 200% before my SC partner even got to 100% sometimes... but the problem is my damage is barely above PLD per hit, therefore I am choosing whatever I can to pump Attack. Though, if possible I'd like a peacock charm for my neck, to show off, and for extra accuracy....

Nameless, you mean the garnet ring? yes HQ of that ring = sun ring(in STR bonus), but sun ring+1 would be better... if I could afford of course.

HQ of Garnet ring is Puissance ring. Sun ring is the non-HQ level 54 version of STR rings....

K so as far as chi blast with the neck equip and stuff... I believe a macro is 6 lines? idk im guessing cuz im really tired.

But anyways, is it possible to macro unequip neck and equip temple crown into chi blast and go back to original setup or do i need to put a /wait in between everything? And if i need a /wait how long does it need to be? And (sry to mods if this is against TOS for FFXI) but is there an background program that will let me macro more things to one button? That 6 limit is kind of a pain :dead:

I spent about 1.3 mil on that combo by lvl 40 , and quite honestly it is worth it till about 60, at that point i find i NEED the snipers and i can't even wear my brown belt...

without brd 27 acc with 2x snipers, life belt, af body , and spartan cesti my acc is about 90% on mobs i should be xp'ing on, and that's about right, with brd i can sometimes get away with brown belt, but not often with the torama's, rapters, etc that i've been fighting lately, very high eva mobs

they say 60+ you fight high EVA mobs, there not kidding lol

do monks have special bonuses on cockatrice?
i was doing 2x sun rings + brown belt combo on them and hit for 9/10 hits.... it was very very odd that i hit so well...
sure i had a bard with me but i ALWAYS had a bard with me lol...
when leveling against those damn crawlers, i would hit for less and for less accuracy...

maybe cockatrice have same weakness vs. blunt like bone type?
off topic but next time you level in terrigan against those deformed chickens; you should give BB + 2x Suns a try
