You sure it wasn't the person selling it who bought it just to show he had one?

Last I checked (a few days ago), they were up to 700k. It makes my MNK sub sad, except that I can camp them fairly easily.

I seriously doubt somebody could take him at 39. When he does his 2 hour(which is 100 fists) your pretty much screwed.

His spawn point has 2 place holders, if you camp them enough and know what your doing you kill both of them 5 mins apart(that way if your killing one, the other one wont pop) I think the spawn time for them are around 10-12 mins. Spamming Provoke is a must. You dont have to worry about any aggros up there, but getting there might be a little tough since the yags around him still conned easy prey to me at 45. Once you get up there and start spamming provoke sometimes you will pull a clipper from down below, which sucks specially if its real close to spawn time.

The more people that are willing to help the better, even at 45 i was scared to take him, usually i had a high level monk or a mage camp with me. With 2 people you can setup in opposite corners to spam provoke. I tried subbing my thief for this one and using chi blast to pull, but theres not much that beats Provoke.

If you didnt know heres your macro setup.
            /targetnpc
            /ja "Provoke"

and just start mashing the macro. You will target other creatures in the distance usually, but if something pops closer it will target it, so dont worry if you have something already targeted....

The Fuma Khayan is setup the same exact way, just on the other side of the castle. This one i could solo at 45 with no problem. I did use 100 fists a couple times because my health wasnt full after fighting the other pop. Hes a nin so he does his 2 hour on ya, ive been hit from 100-400 damage from it. Unfortionatly im 1/11 on his drops, and the one time it dropped i had another monk with me needing it and we lotted, he got it(but still he paied me half for it)

It seems like both of these guys have the same respawn time, 1-2.5 hours would be my estimate. If your lucky you can get one pop, run to the other side NM and he should be popping shortly afterwards.

At most i had 2 other people with me at the Fuma Camp, but at the ochuidos kote, 5-7 people standing around was not uncommon. Sometimes you get lucky and it spawns in front of ya, other times you dont. When i was soloing them, i setup on the bridge to the area so i could cover 3 sides and prayed it wouldnt spawn on the back side of me. Ive seen other soloers stay in corners, but with that you can only cover 2 sides, but its all preference.

My sob story was after 4 weeks of camping both, not getting either drop(fought Ochuidos probably 5-6 times) My nice LS member gave me his Emp Pin to sell(since i already had 300K saved up) and i bought both(ochuidos sells for 400K on my server, Fuma for 90K and emp pin for 250K)

One thing i did notice when i had 3-4 people with me camping it, some high level people(who clippers and stuff around couldnt ever hit) would bring up the mob so your macro would target it and you couldnt spam unless you wanted to pull the mob. Other times they would bring up the mob then cast invisible on themsevles, releasing the mob. Had one guy pull up an Elemental and do this. Luckly nothing ever spawned when people did that with. So please dont be a dick and do this to people who are really needing the items and if people do this to you, you can usually tab around and find the mob if it spawns(since if the person who brought the mob up, his macro will be targeting the mob hitting him since its the closest to him. Hehe, but one way to get even with people like that is, get a dragoon to camp with ya and have him summon his wyvrn and follow that guy around, so his macros target the wyvrn -=)

good luck to yall who camp it, its a bitch, but it can be done, just not at level 39 =)

Maybe I miscommunicated a little. My SAM friend at lvl 39 did get them, put she also had a DRG helping her. The main advantage is that once your 39 the Yagudo Voltaries, Heralds, and Instigators won't aggro, making it quite safe to reach the NM without trouble. Versing the NM, it probably best to take it solo at 45...

But believe me, get one more person to help... it would be best

with good equipment they are both soloable by a monk at level 41, and that's when the highest level mob in those rooms give you 72 xp for killing them (on the verge of Even Match). 41 gets the advantage of 1) Chi Blast, a faster pull (barely) and an extra half of a hit; and 2) Raging Fists, regularly does around 350-400 against those yags (with good exuip).

with a monk, your 2 hour counteracts their 2 hours, so they are practically just like any other Decent Challenge mob.

i started camping it at level 42, when i ws done i had 2500 more xp and only fought Mee Deggi the Punisher once, no drop... i'm pretty sure the JPs were using bots...

although when i first got there i lucked out and no one was camping Quu Domi the Gallant. it spawned within 10 minutes and i fought it (used 2 hr). near the end another yag spawned and linked >_<. but i killed Quu Domi with around 75 hp left and got the drop, then instantly ran for the exit and survived ^_^.

                  There's actually a third NM that spawns in the mid point of Deggi and Domi that hardly ever gets claimed. I used to kill the yags by Deggi at the same time, run to the other side kill the yags on the Domi side so that the respawns will be roughly 6 minutes apart, then run to the middle, kill the yags that are the placeholders of Mou Ouzi the Swfitblade. Its just a case then of running around like a headless chicken, to maintain the pop times. I've also noticed that the 3 NM's always spawn within 1 pop of each other, I once lucked out, got Moo Ouzi to spawn, killed it, only got the crappy barbarian sword, ran to Domi side, Domi popped, killed him, got the fumas ^^, activated flee, ran across to the Deggi Side, Deggi popped and i won the claim, but no drop.; ;

In the end I got the drop on the fumas enough to sell those off and buy the Kote since Deggi was being stubborn about dropping the kote for me. Though I sold them once i got AF gloves, kinda wish i hadnt now...

There is an interesting thread about pop times in the main forum; you might wanna check that out if you havent..
Anyways, I really feel for ya. It sucks not to be able to afford a kote as a MNK, SAM or NIN, SAM and NIN do arguably get more use from the Kote in my opinion, since most MNKs are gonna use their AF gloves(about 20 levels of use is still pretty damn good).
It's pretty hard to just tell you to keep farming for it, or what ever the hell, and I personally hate NMing, it's a pain in the ass even if you try to belive you are on fair terms with other campers. I personally don't enjoy camping for 5 hours, obtaining nothing and being frustrated to boot.
Maybe you could grab ahold of some friends who speak japanese and coerce them into getting a JP player to camp Mee Diigi for you at reduced price or for free. Other then that I wish you luck.

ok i have enough for the kotes now as they sell for around 410k on Ramuh but that will pretty much comletely wipe out my liquid gil. I have 455k right now. So using bracelets until 41 and camping the kote would be ok? i feel like if i dont get the kotes at 34 though i will be a gimped monk  ....but the alternate route is just so much more gil efficient:sweat: ......DILEMMA >_<

There really isn't much of a better choice than Kotes from 34 till you get AF gloves in my opinion, though I still think buying them is insane.

Basically, don't think that you have to get them right away, I didn't get mine till level 42, from camping of course, and I certainly wasn't 'gimped' up till then.

okies i think i'll just wait to camp the NM then....although i think that might turn out being just as frustrating as the lost money on them what with the competition drop rates etc....(btw what kind of drop rate do the kotes have?)

Drop rate on them isnt very good, and on top of that you have a lot of competition.

I would suggest buying them and camping them at a later level. Especially if you have the gil to buy them at an early level(i bought mine at 41, wish i would have gotten them sooner.
