Best Race for monk?

Hi,

Right now im a hume and i have monk at 25, and a bunch of other jobs leveled up, such as BST(lvl36), WHM(lvl30).

I was wondering is it worth it to make a new character and make a new monk with it? If it is what is the best race for monk?

The unbiased response would be, "there is no best race."
But, in my opinion, Galka's were made to be Monks.

Stat-wise Galka make the best Monks, but Humes and Elvaan are also very good. (I'm a Hume myself - when I eat mithkabobs and use go 'all-out' - I can outdamage all other melees my level - the ones I've been partied with anyway). Mithra and Taru are a little lacking in the STR department, but can still be decent if equipped right.

as a hume what stat should i concentrate on more dex or str? see as a galaka or elvaan all id have to concentrate on would be dex/acc.

Since Hume Str and Dex stay pretty even most of the time, I tend to raise them both about the same. Though since I've got my Life Belt I've been able to sacrifice some of the Dex items for more Str.

Don't elvaan have most Str? at the price of a acc you have the most damaging monk...

that price of accuracy is a heavy price. i personally like elvans since their most damaging but galkas r probably the best choice since they have second highest str, better dex than elvans(but still shitty dex) and incredible VIT. mithra monks r very nice too since they have high dex but they have low str.

i'd say stick with hume if ur too lazy to start another race.really doesnt matter what race u pick. equipment is much more important

Trust me when I say that we Galka's don't need that much Acc. gear. I have hardly any on and I barely miss

beleive me high lvl mobs have insane evasion. in the 30's i didnt have much accuracy gear either and didnt have much of a problem but in the 40s accuracy gear will be needed needed.

Galkas make the best monks. Any race can be a good monk though. I say choose whatever race you like, even if it's for a dumb reason. My answer to your question: No, it's not worth it.

Does anyone have pics of what differnt hair styles of galaka and elvaan look like with AF? i saw this one site that has all the af on most races, but they dont have different hair styles, id like to see what different ones would look like.

Also how big of a gap is the end game damage between galaka, hume and elvaan?

I will probablly start a galaka, it depends on which look cooler in AF armor now ^^

As a hume i have the ahir style that the main guy has in the opening movie thingy, except black.

You guys say, that a well equiped monk can be good as any other. Lets say u take mithra you put all yoru stats into str and lets say have hte same base str as a galaka. But wouldnt galaka/elvaan still be a better choice, since you will probablly add the same +STR items to the "stronger" race?

Also wouldnt elvaans MND make it a tad stronger than galaka when it comes to chi blasting? And how much of a diff does it make?

Erm. If Galkas have "shitty DEX" then so do Humes and Tarutaru.

Galka or Elvaan but mirthas have great arcuracy

i saw another post, some where and a mithra monk said she isnt doing the amount of dmg she'd like to be..... so yea...
