To those people who farmed weeks for Kote...

HOW DID YOU DO IT?!?!?!

This is driving me crazy! I just spent a week straight, 8 hours a day trying to get enough money. All I was able to come up with was 210k. Not to mention Kote price went up to 450k-500k.

Most likely I'm guessing your method of farming money isn't TOO secret (if it is, please PM me if you want), just time consuming. Can anyone give me a method?

Here are some of the ones I tried:

Leaping Lizzy hunting - 180k from this. Killed Lizzy about 15 times spending all together about 30 hours this week and only once did he drop.

Mining in Palborough - 0 profit from this. I spent 30k on the mining gear and pickaxes and found a platinum and crap for the rest. 1 platinum the entire day and like 5 mythrils =\ I broke even in the end. Average mining point: Nothing, Nothing, Pickaxe Breaks, Pickaxe Breaks, Nothing, Pebble + Pickaxe Breaks, Nothing, Tin + Pickaxe breaks, mined out.

Hunting Spiders in Korroloka Tunnel - I can only kill spiders when I'm with someone else who's high level and needs to farm and even then, the money is split in half. Not to mention the chance of a drop is about 1/50.

Killing Crawlers/Spini - Incredibly frustrating, even with widescan, that every time I would go up to a Crawler, a low level was killing him. When I found a free one, chances of dropping silk were rare.

Yhuggto Grotto Orc farming - With a level 5 THF sub on my MNK, he wasn't fairing as well and with all the pops and aggro/linking, I died twice and came about 50 exp from downleveling. The money from killing wasn't very great, 50 gil a kill, and I didn't get very many good drops.

Palborough Mines Quadav/Chest farming - Wasted about 5 hours today trying this. What upset me the most was that I spent 5 hours and the only 3 things that dropped were 2 Shell bugs and a Brass Subligar. I did find a key but couldn't find a coffer.



So I ask, how did you guys get these gloves?? Even if you got your money from doing something that I already listed, tell me. I still want to know. I refuse to go back to Garlaige without the best gear I can get. I made a vow to myself and I'm not going to break it.

Item finder helps with drops, farming without it is kinda useless

i feel stupid for saying this as all this is my source of income but i can get well over 400k in a week by mining in gusgan. The catch is you need to be at least lvl 45 to not get aggroed by mobs where the better mineing spots are, and lvl 50 to get all mineing spots.
Im lucky and have a lvl 45 drk that i mine with to fund my mnk =).

Another thing you can do is to do BCNM 40 if your lvl 40, i hear mnks are in high demand for BCNM

Bought Kote for 480k and had about 80k remaining

I know you dont wanna go back go garliage without the best gear but i would recommend levelling to 40 and then try too hook up with a decent BCNM group, 40 us also alot of other nice stuff to buy so you can farm for a month or so lol

Jujitsu Gi, Fuma Kyahan and Possibly snipers rings is what you will be looking at i guess

All quested spells, all worth a decent amount of gil. Still planning on doing Teleport-Yhoat, Altep, and Vahzl to sell, too.

I dont know about your server....but at least on Asura mining is pretty shot. There are way too many people.



And guess what I came across yesterday? A MINING BOT?!! I was like that is so stupid but they just stand in front of a spot and have a macro that just spams /target npc /use item "Pickaxe" <t> {press enter}. I know this because somehow it got off and the person was spamming this...../sigh.

It is worse then fishing bots (fishing bots only drive prices of fish down and most fish are NPC based anyways) but mining bots take up a spot so NO ONE else can use it! I never thought mining would have this problem. But if you ever see someone planted on one spot rather then running around like most miners do then they are either a bot or insanely stupid.

The whole mining botting thing is stupid because they wont make that much just staying at one spot (unless they left it there for a LONG time and then they would hopefully get caught) but its the fact they take up that spot that is scary, no one else can mine there.....if this caught on either hopefully SE can squash it (without nerfing mining any further) or it will be the end of mining.

I can't speak for all servers, but from what LS friends tell me this is pretty common on Bismarck. What people hope to have happen is that enough people are mining in zone so that all potential spots are taken -- then no one moves and the spot will always quickly come back.

Ok, Theif is currently at level 7 and still rising. Now once I get him up to 15, where do you suggest I go to farm?

I was thinking crawlers again? I don't know. More tips would be appreciated :D

i havn't bought (or needed to buy) anything *really* expensive yet. . . but so far my fav place to make money is ranperre's tomb, it's been the best for me so far. learn the spawn patters of crypt ghost (martial slacks drop 25k on asura), spook (travlers mantle 20k) and the chest spawn points (battle gloves 5k, or money) and just do a rotation through all of those, killing skeletons and bats. . . you're moving constantly so you don't get bored much, and you can stack bat fangs, bat wings, and bone chips. spook and crypt ghost is heavily camped at times, but after you've done this rotation for a while, and learn the spawn patterns very well, it's usually pretty easy to get the monster when it spawns.

goblins gruel also spawns in the tomb, but i never could figure out it's spawn pattern very well, i usually was more concerned with spook/crypt ghost.

I camped Mee Deggi for a week sporadically with a linkshell friend. All I can say is I ended up pretty much empty handed, except I was loaded to the gil with impact knuckles and no kote.

I get a /tell to do a bcnm40 from a bard friend of mine, go do it, the way he decided to distribute the loot was by /random, so highest /random gets first pick of loot, and so on and so forth.

I /random and roll a 992. I got the Erase scroll, sold it for 400k within an hour, and had Ochiudo's Kote for the next bcnm run we did that night which was nice. Except that time I got an oak log >.< ...
