Monks and attack delays

Howdy. First post, still getting my feet wet.

A question - do hand-to-hand weapon delays work differently that the others? I could swear that a club's +342 delay is faster than a knuckle with just +45 delay, for example.

I'm wondering because I just secured a pair of Tropical Punches, and I figured that +0 delay and Martial Arts would let me attack much more frequently. I still seem to be attacking once every three full seconds or so. It this how it should be? Am I just paranoid?
