Also when you use skills like combo & shoulder charge boost can give ya an extra 10-15 points of damage on it... I combo for 80-110 vs. some monsters and if i boost once i can hit for 125... Now if i boosted 7 times and fired it off at 300%... That'd be something. But you gotta get the autoattack off so you dont swing and waste it.

Boost WFM
Boost Works For Me (WFM). As Anom says, my first two attacks after a bunch of boosts are ALWAYS better than my subsequent attacks. I also hit more frequently with Boost up. I use Boost during battle and fin d I take down the hard mobs much more reliably than if I am lazy and forget to use Boost during battle.
Boost WFM.

Level 18 Thief and 9 Monk. Using Dagger. Normal Attack Rating 71, boost about 10 times to get it to about 130 or so.. attack, deals normal damage. I think I'm broken too.. I've never seen this work properly, even when I was a monk using HTH.

I didn't really read the thread completly, need sleep >_>, but I guess I'll put my two cents...if it was already metioned, o well...
Lets just say you have the atk range of ... 15-40 on a certain monster. You happen to hit both punches at 35. Then in the next fight you boost 7 times and do your lowest possible damage (15). That means you only raise the 15 damage to, lets say about, 30 damage...
Sometimes it seems like it does nothing, but hell, it still does something. Hell, sometimes I get lucky and do well over double damage on both punches....boost is AWESOME.
Eh...time to sleep now -_-

At 18/9 THF/MNK, I did a multiple-boosted (about 4-5 boosts) sneaked Fast Blade for 220+ damage on a decent challenge dhalmel. That's about 30-40 damage over a normal sneaked Fast Blade.
In my experience, Boost is practically useless with normal attacks, but makes a noticeable difference with Sneak Attack.

do a quick boost b4 your ws and it adds a nice little number. Im L11 Mnk and generally hit at 50-65 vs orcs without boost, do a nice lil boost b4 it and it goes up to about 72. (Could just be coincidence but I was taking this thread into account when I was playing).Gothtech - Hume Male // 30mnk // 19war // 15 thf => rank 4

My problem with boosting is the skill not quite useful when you are soloing. the boosting actually takes away my time to land one more hit. I'll boost if I'm in group. But then... soloing after lv15 is really wasting time.
I'll guess I'll have to wait till till a much higher level say if this is really worthy or not. I haven't try to boost more than 7 times in one fight. I figure if I have to boost that many time then my party is taking much longer time to kill a single mob. To me Fast kill=Faster XP

No, actually. You are a monk, you use hand-to-hand, your second attack still counts as the first. You get 2 hits - one attack. First hit was just unlucky. You don't really see the diff in boost until 20+, since it's based on percentage and not raw numbers. It doubles my damage, sometimes more, depending on how high I can get it before it wears off.Riot -- 53 Monk, 26 Warrior, 16 Paladin, 15 Samurai, 5 Thief

At my lvl, it boosts my attack by about 20 attack points.
Use Focus to be SURE you'll make nice first impression.
Boost is added to the attack of both hits, this I am sure of.
I chain boost throughout most fights,
so I don't have boost added to any of my WS macros,
but I usually get one in right before a WS.
It usually adds 20-60 points of base damage,
and I believe attack has something to do with your hit rate,
so it's very important to use before Multi-hits.
Boost creates like 1/6 the hate Provoke creates,
so I tend to cut back in situations where I'm doing too much damage (or when I'm forced to take some damage so they can heal the tank.)Rude, but not wrong. ;x

Just wondering...Why boost throughout a fight? Doesn't it slow your attack down? I've noticed that when I boost, there is a longer delay from my next attack, which makes me think that the boost ability took the place of my attack.Riot -- 53 Monk, 26 Warrior, 16 Paladin, 15 Samurai, 5 Thief

There isn't a longer delay, your auto attack was drowned out in the boost animation.
If you pay attention to your damage log and tp, you'll see this.Rude, but not wrong. ;x

ok. boost adds what ever percentange to ur damage of half ur level. so if u are level 20 every time u use boost it increases ur attack by 10%. if u are level 8 its 4%. and boost helps alot on weapon skills and special attacks like sneak attack. my normal sneak attack does 100 damage when i use boost i hit up to 140 damage.
