I was lookin t the mnk site http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValley-PaloAlto/7650/ and I noticed the lvl 10 h2h weapon
Tropical Cesti Dmg+1 Delay +0 Acc +10
Lv10 - Mnk
the recipe appears to be Sheep Leather + Fruit Punches binded w/ earth crystal, it reqs a lvl 81 tanner, anyone seen these round, w/ the proper +str's/+atk this seems like it'd be very powerful 4 a long time and its fairly cheap to make if you can find a high lvl crafter.

huh oh umm i wouldnt suppose anything as extensive will exist until a ways through retail. personally i only know 2 Japanese charecters (to hand, and samurai ) i use bablefish although it has been goofy of late

I have a pair of those grapplers, and they work quite well.

They're excellent for gaining TP. Once I'm at 100+% everyone else is at 30-70%.

With the proper Str and Attack boosting gear and ƒ~ƒXƒ‰•—ŽR‚Ì?K‹ø?Ä(Kabobs), they can do some nice damage as well. With each punch, I do as much damage if not more than a Warrior with a 1h Sword, and since I attack twice(or more if I counter) and miss less often, it really adds up. It's common for me to get all the hate without even Taunting.

Once I get Berserk at 30, I think they'll still be as good if not better than the rest of the grapplers around that level.

I plan to fully replace them with Tactical Magician's Hooks or Cross Counters around 50, but I'll let you know how they stack up to other grapplers along the way.

its not acutally 0 delay just +0 h2h has a base delay that lowers everytime u get a Martial Arts

Heh... I saved up 20k just to buy these on my lvl 10 monk. Been playing ~ a week now. Just bought 6 flower pots in an attempt to make even more money. Anyway, to get back on topic, I really like them. These wraps made a difference when I went from just fists at 9 to actually having a weapon at 10. Very good buy imo.

What would happen if you had Tropical Punchs and as much +attack equipment you could get (Ochiode's Kote, Tiger Stole, etc.)? Would you do amazing damage or what? With DRK or WAR sub, with berserk or the +attack skills, how would that go?


Also, someone said that the monk 2hr kills all delay, so you want to get the heaviest damaging grapples when using them. Is this true, or what tropical punches attack faster on the 2hr than other grapples?

can someone plz point out what is so great about these tropical punches... im not seeing why + 1 damage and no delay is any good opposed to say +6 damage and +66 delay. unless im missing something like you can imbue the punches with more attributes when you buy them?

That's the only sucky part about these grapples.

Delay is NOT a good thing.

The higher the delay on your weapon, the longer it takes for you to attack...for example, my staff has a +403 Delay (yuck). On rare occasions when I use my staff while partying, I see my friends (who each have grapples with +66 Delay) attacking the enemy two, sometimes even three times before I can take my next swing.

With a +0 Delay, and +10 Accuracy (+12 with a Tropical Punch +1), you can get in a mad numbers of hits in a short time and build up your TP wicked fast.

Really Monks have one of the slower attack rates among the melee classes (unless you count that they attack twice everytime) until higher levels.

For example:

At level 1, with no weapon and no haste equipment or anything the monk will have a base attack delay of 400.

A thief at level one using a bronze knife (is that lvl 1 weapon? i forget) gets +4 damage at 193 delay. Thats +4 damage with slightly less delay.

Any monk weapon that adds delay just worsens the equation. Even though monks attack twice each time they actually have one of the slowest attack frequencies, unless you count counter heh.

Fruit Punch

Well, I finally got my hands on a pair of these...

Crap damage, as I expected, but I love the swift attacks and the increased accuracy...against Even Matches and weaker enemies, I never miss. All in all a good pair of grapples. I'll probably be keeping them until I hit 30.
