Monk Damage (high level)

At high levels, how well are monks able to deal damage? Do they deal as much damage at 65+ as an equal level Dark Knight or Thief? I know they won't compare to a Ranger's damage, but not much will.

The reason why I am asking is because I am trying to decide whether I will primarily play a Tarutaru Monk, a Tarutaru Thief, or some other sort of Tarutaru melee character (maybe even a Paladin ).

i can't imagine being a taru pally... i'm sure it's possible, but you'll have one hell of a challenege ahead of you. same with taru drk. it's possible, but not easy. Not only is taru strength 16 points (that's a lot) lower than an elvaan's, your hp are really low, so your "soul eater"/"darkness" damage will be really low too. If you're up for a serious challenge, go for it.

Taru monks and thieves both work out pretty well. taru monk won't dish our quite as much damage, but it's not a bad combo at all. People on the board say a taru thief works well, i never saw one in beta, so i can't really say.
