Does Monk work well as a sub job??

Hi, I was just wondering if MNK would work well as a sub job to anything. It doesn't seem like you would get the same boosts to strength and what not like a WAR would and not as much speed from a THF sub. It seems kind of in the middle and seems like it wouldn't work well? Any thoughts? Thx^^

your only looking at the stats monks get accumulate, counter and now since the lv cap is 70 (soon) you get Chakra. You also get a high hp boost.I plan to use it on my Ninja

I was wandering if the monk would give higher Hp to anyjobit's subed with..and i mean like 300-500 hp not like a mere 100.....also, I know this would never work, but a samurai/mon I was thinking about..cuz I did this in FF5 and it was pretty good. I had counter to do those heavy damagingkatana slashings and now instead of having 1 ability from the monk..I could have a few:spin: but of course I prolly won't be this at all!

it helps if you're the main tank taking hits.
so basicly in a levelling up PT only a warrior is suitable to use /mnk since they can taunt my themself already.
when solo maybe you'll always take hits so /mnk might be useful there too.

Hey while ur here can monks fight with fist! actually can anyclass other then monks fight with fist also?

I doubt the HP boost your looking for will be anywhere *near* what you stated. Perhaps when the lvl cap breaches 130 or something you might get that much, but as of now you may get 50-100 extra life.

As for monks attacking with fists, they can. But its better to use claws for the fact you get better damage and near same speeds.

ARE..MONKS...THE..ONLY..CLASS..THAT..CAN...USE..THEIR..RAW...FIST...TO..ATTACK??? like is this FinalFantasy5 or FinalFantasyTatics......or do i need to use wepons!

I know that monks can use their bare-hands, I'm not to sure about other classes but I'd assume that they can since there are other classes that can use grapples. Also, from what I have heard, there is basically no real advantage to fighting bare-handed.

Well there is attack speed, but you don't do that much damage compared to using a weapon. Just use grapples or claws they have almost the same attack speed as fist but the bonus of more damage. ^-^"

LoL, I am too. Well I'm gonna play FFXI NA when it gets released in November. 4 months away..what to do in the mean time? FFX-2 anyone. ^-^"
