The entire quest to aquire Dragoon is the story of you aquiring your wyvern.
The Call Wyvern ability is a DRG's 2hour, which means they have the ability to call it every 2 hours so to speak. If your dragon dies, it's gone. But if it has been 2 hours since you last called it, you may call it right back into action.

Ok, I'm still kinda confused, if the dragon dies in the 2 hour span of time, and then you wait another 2 hours, can you call it again? Or is it if the dragon dies, it's gone forever? Also, is it 2 hours in game, or can it be 2 hours offline also? Thanks.Final Fantasy XI Ps2 Beta Tester

Because if it's only been a half hour since you summoned it, than an hour and a half is long time to wait to get it back. But I agree, it does sound like some players overreact. I guess the Dragon just adds a nice addition to the attack that Dragoons don't like to go without.

I know it's just a game, but ya kinda get attached to your dragon since it's one of the more perminant and personlized pets a job gets in the game. I won't freak out and refuse to be in the renkei because of it, but if he's running low in HP and there's nothing I can do about it I'd rather send him away than see him die. It's kinda saddening.
