  • Does anyone have this macroing problem....

I swap hand gear when doing Wheeling Thrust and I notice that my wyvern isnt using his breath attack. Does this happen to anyone else?

    My macro is :
    /equip hands "E Brc."
    /ws "Wheeling Thrust" <t>
    /wait 1
    /quip hands "Gloves"

        Um...
Do you kill the mobs with Wheeling Thrust?
        Thanks Kazuki.

Nope. Ive seen it happen more than once. I do wheeling thrust, wyvern doesnt do anything. No message in the chat log either.

I've never run into that myself. Then again, my Wheeling Thrust macro is seperate from my +STR macro as I swap 4 or 5 pieces in and out.

I've noticed with pets and a few other various random things, that equipment swaps can goof up other things. I'm not sure at what point it registers with the wyvern to start using a breath attack, but I'm guessing it's not just "raidenn readies wheeling thrust".

I would suggest playing with the /wait line, making it larger to ensure that the pet registers it and begins using his attack.

Other option would get to have seperate macros for gear swaps. One for normal TP building, one for WS gear, and then another for the actual WS.

I'm didn't think that blinking characters actually effected anything, but I've noticed a few instances where if I did an action followed by gear swap where it goofed things up.

I've generally noticed that equipment changes make you lose the lock on the target of the mob you are fighting. In some cases, you lose the lock, especially since your equipment change macros automatically target your own character. With this being the case, if your wyvern doesn't have anything to target (simply put, because YOU don't) then it won't do its skill. I've never really tried this with Dragoon but it makes some sense that if you lose target, so does your wyvern.

I would advise putting equipment changes in another macro.

Well, there is a large difference between losing lockon and losing targeting all together. Even if you lose the targetlock, which all that does is let you strafe around the target, your wyvern should still stay targeted. While I largely don't deal with equipment swap macros, I have fought enough mobs while not using the target lockon feature to be able to say that I don't think that effects it.

If it is something in the gear swap macro, I'd just make some seperate macros for gear swaps and use those before the WS macro.

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

I wish strafing actually did something >_>

And weapon sizes too (for range purposes). Off topic I know, but you got me thinking.

As for the breath not occurring, I've noticed that gear swaps can cut out animations, and in some cases also block out skillchain info.

Often I would switch gear for Rampage, and if ever I closed distortion, I would not see it on screen or in my chat log. I would if I gear-swapped and opened an SC for someone else, but not if I closed.

I'd like to see SE fix this sometime soon. It's not critical, but it is a nuisance.
