  • Rebuilding DRG

    I'm in the process on planning some (hopefully rewarding) BCNM runs. I got a load of seal to burn from BST and this is mostly so I can get Kitten's NIN up and running to 75. But I thought this might also be a nice chance to set-up my DRG with some nice melee gear since I do plan to return to it after I get some subjobs squared away. Left it at 60 since late 2005 to prep for COR after it was announced, I've missed DRG, though.

    I think I know some of the good stuff. I probably should consider Jaridah or SH if I can manage the gil for that. Dunno about sniper rings. I do regret tossing my Jaeger Ring as that's a nice free alternative, but I do have a peacock charm I can bum off Kitten as needed. So maybe some STR rings to fill those slots.

    Can't seem to decide on GK Lance of Darksteel Mezraq. Both look really nice, but I'm not sure at what point it would be good to phase those out, either.

    I sincerely doubt anyone is going to tell you something you don't already know about the gear you need.

    Is this thread necessary?

    Perhaps you need to start a blog for these random thoughts you always feel the need to write about here.

      Level 60 equipment
      Head: Valkyrie or Walkure
      Neck: PCC or Chiv Chain
      Ammo: Tiphia Sting
      Ears: Spike/Assault
      Body: Peti/SH
      Rings: Str or Woodsman
      Back: jaguar mantle
      Waste: Potent, life, or sword+1
      Legs: Republic Subligar
      Feet: Bounding/Leaping/Tabin/Nails
      Hands: Spiked Finger Gauntlets
      Lance: Either GKL or Dark Mez

      Of course be looking for Am mantle+1, Merman Earring, Feral legs, Rutter for feet, etc.

      This is my suggestion if you would like to spend some cash on drg.

        GKL vs DM is really an opinion/style choice, as the overall effect is the same: increased accuracy. It's just that GKL has that Acc+ constantly in effect for yourself alone, while DM gives Acc+ by way of enemy -Eva, which helps the rest of the party, but the proc rate isn't 100%. Again, a choice of opinion and style.

          I think the choice between the lance really depends on the rest of your build. If you lean towards accuracy for tp then you won't need the accuracy from the GKL as much and can use the DM. If you build for STR and ATK then you can try the GKL and see how it works.

          The beauty of DRG is that there is so much versatility in the job, whether it be armor, subjobs, roles etc. There is no right answer for most DRG equipment questions.
