A couple of points of ATK is totally a good enough reason to say "Hay I ran out of food, so screw you guys, I'm going to run all the way back to town so I can buy more food that I don't even really need."

No wonder Dunes parties suck so bad.

If you are a player who already has enough gobbie bags and have the gil to risk using 3 hr foods at the dunes then I'd say go for it if you want.

However if you are a player who is either just starting or don't have all the gobbie bags and/or wants more space for drops and stuff then those non-stackable 3-4hr foods aren't worth the hassle at all.

And what's up with using food as an excuse to leave?

If your party is that bad you just say it. If they want to learn how to make things work then you try to teach em what you know to make things better.

If they don't want to learn then you just say the truth that you don't want to remain in that party anymore and just leave.

Indeed, no wonder why the dunes suck so bad (not that it gets much better at higher lvls).

(Then again I've just skipped the dunes and all that up to lvl 37 stuff and just solo'd it )

... Have those of you who advocate three hour food for Valkrum Dunes leveled there lately?!

Parties sometimes breakup before I even decide which food to use. -_- Use a three hour food, fight for 20 minutes, then spend the next 2 hours seeking because no healer is around. (Yes, happened to me, more than once--I used to be a big Navarin fan.) Eat tank food while on WAR, and the PL tells you not to Provoke or he'll let you die, while the WHM/BLM in party is happily spamming Stone with what little MP he has left.

I don't care if you haxed a Gobbiebag XI or something; three hour food should only be used in a static party at those levels. -_-

I don't think I'd ever use any 3 hour food in any exp party, let alone in the dunes.

I dunno, I'm a big fan of Yellow Curry, but it's the rare conditions that let me use it when in a party since I can almost never find any bards to boost my accuracy if I'm a bit low.

I don't think I'd ever use any 3 hour food in any exp party, let alone in the dunes.

I used to bring Shallops with me to xp parties while I was leveling PLD (before hitting the +def cap and moving to Tacos).

And I'm very close to never dying as PLD so never had troubles about my food going to waste for that reason.


However, 3hr food at the dunes... (or XPing there...)

I don't think I would really use a 3 hour food until at least the 60s. Who knows, maybe I've just had bad luck with parties.
