Well, the drg/sam thread got me to thinking about other subs that we could use at 75, most of what I say is somewhat hypothetical since I can't test these out yet myself, so I don't know if they would really work or not. Also I might have some of my dark knight info wrong.
It might sound odd, but what about drg/drk?
With Empathy merited, we can now give Last Resort to our wyvern, and stoneskin with full wyvern hp. Last Resort takes 10% of the users max hp, and converts it into straight damage. So if you had 430 hp and were hitting for 0s, with Last Resort you'd hit for 43 for one minute.
However it is important to remember that Last Resort when subbed takes 10% of your max hp and converts 5% of that into damage.
I believe at level 67, our wyvern's have somewhere between 900-1200 hp, so just using 900hp as a level 75 wyvern's hp, so 10% of a wyverns max hp would be 90, 50% of that would be 45 added damage per hit for your wyvern, considering that your wyvern typically hits twice for every hit you do, that added damage adds up pretty quickly, especially if you managed to give your wyvern haste with Last Resort. If you used Spirit Link when your wyvern was at full hp, then it got stoneskin now as well, so stoneskin would absorb some of the damage being dealt to your wyvern by Last Resort.
If a dragoon hits about 8x per minute, then your wyvern should hit roughly 16 times at best, so that would be what, 16x45=720 damage per minute, at best. I'll assume 600 damage per minute for delay and whatever else as a lower bound estimate, every 3 minutes (3minute recast timer on LR)
This would be the main reason for subbing drk, true we could use weapon bash, but that does not return tp, and is not a guarenteed stun, the spells /drk would give us would be mainly useful to trigger healing breaths with, but since our wyvern would be a mixed type, with our AF helm we could heal ourselves at 33%hp, and I doubt a healer would let us get that low.
Still, boosting your wyvern's damage by that much might be worthwhile to consider, but I suspect that you would have to have the wyvern feed to keep your wyvern's hp up, and even then after a few Last Resorts I suspect that your wyvern's hp would be very low. Which makes me wonder if you can kill yourself with Last Resort.
But with enough Empathy upgrades, you could transfer a higher tier Regen to your wyvern couldn't you?
Ahh, and I am forgetting that Spirit Link is on a 5 minute timer isn't it?
Still it's interesting to think about dealing more damage through your wyvern.
