Guys i am a summoner right now thinking of leavimg to be a dragoon

Guys i am a summoner right now thinking of leaving to be a dragoon. I want a job that is diffrent and very fun. I want to have a set role or roles. As a summoner i really dont want to be main heal if i did i would be a whm. I feel that summoners dont get the respect they derserve. I would like to pursue a path in being a dragoon for many reasons.

1. to be able to have a pet out all the time

2. For being a rare job

3. having a lance which i know how to use in RL ( took classes in the bow and staff)

Depends on who you play with. Dragoons are being seen as good damage dealers and a lot of the ignorant 'loldrg' stigma is fading.

DRG has more respect than they once did. People by far and large look at them as just another melee now, it's just the ghost of our past image that can't quite be shaken off. That being said, people are also more likely to notice a good DRG when they see one.

If a THF does a good job on SATA, nobody blinks because it's expected. When the THF doesn't do a good job, the whole party takes notice. But when a DRG does a good job, the party is more likely to show appreciation since there isn't much in the way of expectations to begin with.

Take the time to get good gear and learn how to time your jumps; you will make a name for yourself.
