Re: yay wyvern breathe accuracy ^^

OK, Somepage has clarified things a great deal.

The spear for your throwing slot does no damage (unless you have high STR), so it's basically a superjump with an effect. I can see DRG getting a BRD song to ensure this works right. Hopefully new Angons will be given to us by SE as time progresses (e.g. with a bonus to r.acc).

Somepage clarifies Empathy as copying ALL beneficial status effects to your wyvern when using Spirit Link. Since SL lost some of its usability when the Call Wyvern timer went to 20 minutes, this makes it better than it was before. It will also work well with Mantra for MNK if you are playing a mage sub.

Strafe and Deep Breathing have a critical difference. Strafe affects accuracy and is passive; Deep Breathing affects potency and is on a timer. For melee subs, the timer will likely determine which is more useful and should be chosen first. For mage subs, Deep Breathing will likely be the preferred selection. People using multi-purpose wyverns will need to consider the timer and their playstyle before choosing.

I don't suppose anyone knows the timer on Deep Breathing and Angon? For that matter, what is it about Angon and Tomahawk that makes this better than a simple ranged attack. I mean, I understand the lower defense, but is that it? If it requires special ammo, then it's like separating the weapon and its additional effect. RNG can do it anyway. . . so what makes this special? Just more work? And if WAR get's DEF down too, then why not something else? THF already has EVA down with Feint. I bet Magic DEF down might be popular with mages soon.

Oh well. The one update I really, really wanted for DRG didn't happen. I wish SE would give me a low level Chakram so I have something to practice with. The only two things that keep me from throwing are a lack of ammo options and difficulty building skill.

sounds like Angon needs a throwing skill & can miss? /sigh

It's listed as ammo, yeah. As for missing, I can't say with certainty. I would certainly hope there's an ACC modifier.

Are you sure? looking at the in-game description, each additional level "Increases the number of copied effects by 1" and that wouldnt' make sense if it copied ALL status effects to begin with.

Supposedly we don't need to have throwing skill for Angon, but WARs do for their tomahawks.

I'm just going off what somepage said. They're usually pretty quick with the updates and check the dat's.

But if that's what you read in the game, Drogen_Shomuro, then I'll have to agree with you. I don't suppose you've been able to check how many copy to begin with or had a chance to see if there's a patter to what is copied. . .

Deep breathing is basically a Elemental/Divine Seal for our Wyvern's breaths

That sounds like a good way to explain it, Nick.

How long is the timer? Have you had a chance to try out any of the other abilities?

This is for those wondering the difference between Tomahawk and Angon. Angon lowers an enemy's defence, while Tomahawk lowers an enemy's weapon resistance. For example, Tomahawk would lower a skeleton's resistance to piercing weapons. I got this info from ffxiclopedia.com. From the looks of it, I think we got a better all around ability.
