Why would anyone ever want to fight Maat at 66? Sure it's possible to win and all, by why not maximize your chances to win by waiting for L70? You don't get anything extra for going early.

I heard that his level can be 1-4 levels higher then yours. so if u go in at 66 he wont have asuran fists....it might not be true but it cant hurt.

I read that he is always the same level. I think some rdms were saying he was using spells that were higher than 66 when they fought him. He did not use his weapon skill against me.

Well I got my test last night and fought the old bastard. Heres how it went. Sleep to 100tp. Ate Sis kebabi, used Blink Band. I ran in and used Penta on him for about 500. He called his wyvern. I popped and icarus wing, Penta did 88......... He started to whoop up on me so I Spirit Surged and did my two jumps and hit him with another Penta. It did around 500. If my 2nd penta would have done worth a sh*t then I would have won. Oh well, my ls needs to do somemore skilling up.

depending on tp build, you may want to use spirit surge ect for the second penta and then the ic wing for the 3rd... that way his def will be down for both pentas

He's always level 70, and his stats will remain, regardless of wether you go in naked or not... that's just a stupid rumor that's been floating around for way too long. So fighting a mob that is 4 levels higher than you just because you feel like doing it early and wasting your test. for no reason isn't the smart thing to do.

But reading the OP's posts, poorly exaggerated hints he's thrown in to show he's taking stabs at Maju... you can tell he isn't a very smart person, so everything fits the circle of life.

Eticket: I will try that next time I go in. That was my original plan but for some reason I just popped the wing.

I got another test last night. Went to SSG and got a test rather quickly. Farmed some eyes, a bunch of seals, got some nice skillups and made my money back from buying all the stuff for first fight.

All i can say is good luck! Make sure you bring lots of food and an xp scroll like Feba said. If you were to use it during battle, it would be close to the equivalent of fighting him as level 68 or 69, so you should be fine.

I just beat him on my lunch break. 4:23 clear time. Slept to 100, Penta, SS, Jump, High Jump a few swings, Penta, IW and another Penta. 29 hp left for me. Thanks for all the help.

Congratulations on beating him! =D

I was lucky in that I leveled summoner to 70 first, so I had a really easy fight.

I'm thinking of doing this at 66 as well, and I just had a few questions. How hard was he hitting you per hit? If he can use Asuran fists, does that mean he is unarmed or using H2H?

Would you recommend using +att food, or +def/hp food like Pescatora?

He uses fists and he hit me for about 210-230 a hit. His wyvern did around 100 each but my dragon killer kicked in a few times. It was so quick and I was watching everything but him, but I think he kicked me one time. So it wasn't like a mnk where he hit me for 210 with both fists, he would just hit for 210. First time I fought him I used att food, but I missed a swing and missed 4 hits on a penta. Second time I used sole sushi and did not miss once.

Farm your test in SSG behind Ornamented Door. There are a few nms back there and its good farming. Also the colossal lance nm is there too. Maybe you will get lucky and see it.
