Currently I am a 54 drg with warrior sub. I am a galka, and have the following gear: Holy lance, walk mask, spike necklace, two beetle +1 earrings, brig, battle gloves, woodsman ring, venerer/+3 str ring depending, jag mantle, life belt, republic subligar (or whichever the +5 attack one is), and leaping boots and I eat sis kababi. The last couple of nights I've been fighting crabs and I gotta tell yah, my dmg has been far from impressing. So I was just coming on to see what "good" dmg is at that lvl.

Some hits I"ll hit for 75, most for the 50 range, and a healthy amount in the 0-20 range. I understand they're crabs, but it is just a shame...and am wondering if it really is the crab, or is it just drg are in a slump til 60+? I would try and blame it on gear, but I have the best I can get at my lvl, and use the best realistic food. I generally don't have problems hitting, which is why I use the sis kababi instead of sushi, and even when I use zerk it sometimes is shit dmg.

So if I could see what other drg/dd's in the 52-57 range hit for against crabs maybe I can see if it's just the mob, or if drg don't do well at those lvls.

hmm im not to experienced drg 52 my highest. idk if crap are strong against polearm or something but i have trouble too, hitting hard, now i have to mention that RDM didnt dispel it most of the time, so i was not the only one having problems, but i experiensed same thing. In quicksand caves i kicked ass though, might just be the crap

At level 54, you should try going to Wajaom Woodlands. Dragoons are AMAZING on Colibri, in RoZ, and CoP, and the main game, you had to fight mobs that are weak to the other DD's weapons. Colibri are weak to polearms, so you can do amazing damage. Don't be suprised if you outdamage even a MNK in those partys ;P

Not to mention, the EXP is amazing. 6k/hour at LEAST. People don't mind DRG in their partys after 55+ in Aht Urgan, so racism dies down there. Or should I say Jobism. Or, you can wait till around 70, when you hunt Birds and Rams, but personally, I'd decline partys that are hunting Crabs.

You probably will outdamage MNKs in those parties, if only because the MNK's food gets stolen so much that they switch to cheap food.

... Was only kidding. :x

Crabs just plain suck in general. (I don't even like them on BLM, stupid shell...) The only explination I can have for a DRG doing 0-20 a swing is either it just using metallic body, or it using scissor guard and the RDM or BRD hasn't dispelled it.

Meat Mithkabobs will give you +2% more att at your level. Nothing that is going to blow your mind but they are cheaper than Sis. Like Tirrock said, metallic body or scissor guard may be up. Crabs just suck in general. 50's kinda sucked for me in damage but you will eventually get there.

Just wait until you start fighting Tragopans, it'll probably make up for it.

Its the crabs. Like impaction said, when you hit tragopans you will be doing great damage again.

My evasion was capped rather quickly when I fought those birds. Make sure bring some def gear.

I was in boyhada yesterday fighting crawlers and my dmg was amazing so I"m definately leaning on the fact it was crabs lol.

I really wish I could go to the new areas but every time I make a party/get an invite there is either always someone that doesn't have ToAU or there is someone that doesn't have their HP in whitegate >.<. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky next time heh

For the rings, just use 1 ACC+(Woodsman, prolly.) And STR+3 ring. Try using Sis Kababi food, too. It's pretty good.

Currently I am a 54 drg with warrior sub.

It's been ages since I leveled in Kuftal tunnel, but isn't level 54 kind of on the low end to exp there? I think the level range people normally exp in there for in the is 54-56/57 right? If so, once you hit say, 55, you should see your damage perk back up.

What about King Ranperre's Tomb? Aren't the bats and the crabs roughly the same level distripution?
