Re: Need some subjob advice lvl 61+
Just as a comfirmation (if needed), Bard, Paladin, Ninja, and Dark Knight all fall under the Hybrid Wyvern rules as subs. The AF Helm will raise the trigger to 33% with these subs on, and the target for Healing Breath from these is self only. This *is* a hard and fast rule, to clear up *any* confusion.
Now, with that outta the way, yes, having various subs as a Dragoon is quite useful, as many have stated before. I personally have Warrior, Thief, White Mage, and Bard at or close to 37, and am working on Ninja (mainly for sword/dagger skill up purposes), Corsair (I'm not sure how it'll do as a sub, but I'm certainly taking it up as a main to 75), and Samurai (I'm one of the old guard of Dragoon that was working up to Dragoon/Samurai before the TP fix, but I still like the sub for its utility). I do hear that Blue Mage is shaping up to be a pretty solid and reliable sub for Defensive Wyvern, so I may look into that sometime in the future.
My advice, as it may have been stated before, is to have what I call the three core subjobs as a Dragoon: Warrior, Thief, and a mage job of your choice (be it either White, Black, Blue, or Red Mage). After that, you can either be content with that, or start experimenting with other jobs, such as Dark Knight, Corsair, or even Ranger (if you have some wild notion for that, although I personally wouldn't try it).
The main point is, be flexible, keep your options open, but mainly, have fun.
