Re: Don't let S-E forget they promised us.

I can see some options for possible growth.

    Stun Jump. 'nuff said.

Lancet. Not completely sure what it would do as BLU didn't need it and HP/MP gain would be alittle hollow, but it could be useful and a sight for sore eyes in general.

Call a larger pet. When I had first started up FFXI, I was half-expecting DRGs to be able to have access to larger dragons by end game. That wasn't the case, and I don't know of a mob-type/DAT that could be used but perhaps a Call Drake or something. Hey, still alot of possibilities with pets.

    Fetch Ball.
Ranged Slot. Sic wyvern command. Need I say more? If you think about it, we have the least control over our pet of any job, I think we need it more.

Refresh Breath. One person, lowest MP, something must be in effect so that this takes priority over Healing/Esuna breath.

    Light/Dark Breath.

Wyvern Cries. AoE buffs for the party? SMNs would be pretty angry but again, more usefulness for DRGs.

      Too much stuff.

Want to make Drg more apealing as a Sub? Need a use "Endgame"? Slight increase in DD?

      ITD - Ignore target Defence.

      Finish Drgs Job traits.

      Lv35 - 10% ITD I - Very handy as a Sub for HNMs.

      Lv45 - 15% ITD II

      Lv55 - 20% ITD III

Lv65 - 25% ITD IV - Making Drg viable for HNMs.

      Thoughts?
You have been Black Listed for 10 points of damage.

Or a job ability that does the same thing... And maybe traits that aren't as strong as the job ability. The job ability can be called Negliger, which means Ignore in French... I think >.>
The job trait can just be called Ignore Defense. The job ability can be used every minute.

        Just my thought

they could just fix on our stats too, and make us stronger. Is it just mee or do blue mage seems unfairly strong?

Re: Don't let S-E forget they promised us.

I really doubt any changes will be done with dragoon any time soon. Adding the new 2 hour and putting wyren at a 20min timer was an early gift from SE. It's something that if they'd done at the time of the expansion that no one would be asking for more. As far as making it stronger goes, the only thing i can see, is raising the merit caps for all jobs, To increase everyones jobs an equal amount. And the topic of stronger lance's, you can only get so much from a lance due to the power of the fully upgraded relic. If they just came out with a bad ass lance that was equal to it, there would be no point in getting the relic upgraded. As far as armor goes, I believe that we do have a decent amount of choices. All the really good gear you just need to work at to obtain. Homam, AF+1, AF2, Barone, and the addition of the new assault armor. I understand that for some this gear is too difficult to get, or too expensive to buy. In some cases your right, in other cases you may want to re~evaluate your linkshell. If in your linkshell you are running around still trying to get G-1 items for your black mage then something is wrong.

Being a DRG sure is tough.

Man, what a great reason to bump this thread from three months ago. Thanks for adding to the conversation!

His original post was quite different. "DRG is hopeless."

I still want S-E to give me and my wyvern some haste. Anyone else can get 5% just by subbing DRG and equipping the earring. I want some haste lovin' too!

                            PDIF = ATK/(Mob DEF)

If the Lv35 JT ignores 10% of target's defense, then that would be equivalent to an 11.11% Attack Bonus. If the Lv65 JT ignores 25% of the target's defense, then that would be equivalent to a 33.33% Attack Bonus...fulltime.

At Lv75 if you have 290 Attack from Polearm skill, Attack +60 from gear, and Attack +90 from food, and Attack +50 from STR, youre sitting pretty at close to 500 Attack. The JT alone gives you another +160 Attack. Then you add in double Minuet for another +100 Attack. You're hovering around 750 Attack.

Re: Don't let S-E forget they promised us.

I've had times where I topped off at around 830+ ATT at times with bardic support. 750 isn't really broken; it's actually a bit under what a well-equipped 75 Dragoon can get to already. Those JTs would prolly push us up a bit past 1000+ ATT (reletively) for short periods of time.

Other than perhaps Dark Knight or Warrior, is there really any job that can break 1000 ATT? I'm not sure, but if there was, it certainly wouldn't be Dragoon, and I'd most definatly be surprised (and would like to try it myself) if it could.

On a side note (a bit of a tangent, really), can Paladin, optimally geared, fed, and with the proper bardly support, break 1000 DEF? Just been curious about that one for a bit...

Optimally geared, no. (Because with optimal gear you wouldn't have that much DEF sitting there doing next to nothing for you.)

But PLD can break 1000DEF, there's just no point in doing it.
