I was in a dunes pt the other night with a drg at around 17. The pt went to begin a skillchain on the pugil with double thrust as the opener. Well, everyone's jaw dropped when his double thrust hit for 122 damage finishing off the pugil. I know 122 isn't all that impressive to higher levels, but in the dunes that's pretty major damage.

OK now ill give you a story....

I was in the dunes finishing lvling my jobs thru there and my friend goes can you help me out on rdm af wep?? Me and a Blm friend set off to go and beat up this nm. Well he get us to the pop and i start tanking and just all out beating up this nm, so i did a penta thrust mid fight or so and did like 900 dam and was like that was ok. I get another 100tp at the end of the fight and toss outa the penta for the kill it hits him for 1028dam i was amazed seeing i had no food no berserk or anything. The blm and rdm go omg you didnt lie drg actually kicks ass.... just wow.

i was on last night and got a blind invite to a party in the dunes. since i have soloed all my levels for drg so far I decided to grt into a party. getting there are tank gtg. we had a dd (mnk18, no sub) so it was kind of wierd. i let them know i would tank (love a challenge). i only had provoke, no pebbles for throwing or anything. Well to say the least we were able to take T/VT mobs. i like to use jump > double thrust, totaling about 110 damage or so. then jessie would use whatever elemental breathe and wuld be hit for about 40/50 or so. when party disbanded i had whm asking to befriend for static party. felt pretty good.

I was a DRG with an older character. I got it to 45 before MNK called me back....seems to happen with EVERY character Ive ever made or job Ive ever tried to lvl! The more I try to steer myself away from MNK, the more I end up losing the fight at the end and end up playing as a MNK again. Maybe I should take it to 75 first; hence my newest and now only character, Gotti. Even though my DRG is only 5 (Yeah, I tried to get away from MNK again....didnt last long), I refuse to lvl it. I dont want to seem like the hundreds of ppl that said, "OOOOH DRG has a new 2 hr and can 'Call Wyvern' every 20 minutes!" and hop on the DRG bandwagon, playing a Tuba. Im old school....

I was an Elvaan DRG. This wasnt my first character, but the first one that I said that I wanted to lvl DRG with. I made sure that it was the first job that I unlocked once I got my WAR to 30. Like most players I soloed until 12 or 13...I didnt feel like getting murdered in the dunes.

From experiences with characters before this on, DRGs have no problems getting into parties until around 32-35; around Garbage Shittihell time. Luckly, around that time, I had grown a fan base. Those same ppl in the dunes, if they saw me seeking, they invited me. I had basic gear....maybe a few +1s; the norm for a DD, and because I was an Elvaan, I became 'addicted' to Soop, Eyeball Soup that is. I was a BEAST, if there was a good tank in the party, I must add. I maybe missed an attack every 1/10 turns, which made my damage CRAZY at that lvl and helped my fan base grow. It had gotten to the point that, every once in a while, while I was ANON in Batillia Flea Market selling things, I would recieve a /tell saying something like:

Damn right! This is becoming great! Im showing ppl that you shouldnt believe that myth that DRGs suck.... and yes, it had to have been a myth because, from my personal experience, DRG is one of the most enjoyable jobs....and you can see from my present job, I dont pick jobs 'Just because I'll get into more parties.'

The moral to my story is this: With ANY job(s) that you play as, play it well. You WILL become well known for your job(s) and you WILL represent which ever job(s) you are playing as; hopefully, opening everyone's eyes to how well it can benefit a party.

Ok well people i have story time. Well last night i was extermely bored lvling all my other jobs but drg. So im like f my goal of getting all my jos to 35 im going to play with dragoon. So i hopped on my ls wich i had been taken a brake from. I hear a shout for help on lb2 so we got some help and there happens to be a drk also lvl 60 that i know. So i turn over to my other ls that the dark was apart of talking about how per hit im out dding the dark and a drg a couple lvls higher than me as well as every other person in the pt. Now if You have ever checked my post on the pld forums about the pld w/gs, i stuck up for him when evryone doubted him. And he is the one to go "Hey The drk gonna own you in dot and ws" and he starts going on so we set up a little parse of our own. and her are the results.

Regular weapon skill no buffs
Drk 677 (guillotine all ws )
Me 768+153 (wyvern is the + on my penta)

Me 701+???(killed mob b4 breath lol) *also forgot to equip some of my acces

oh and also this one probably one of the better darks i know and if ne drks come on like omg they must have sucked. Ya well she was elvaan and i am hume male so if anyone feels that, the race worked out in my favor well have you ever thaught that drgs can just be played well cuz i know that some dark will eventaully come on the thread and turn it into a flame well i like this thread so lets keep it going great.

I dont know what it wrong with me, all of my gear is +1 ( except AF lance ) and i seek for hours upon hours a day still. It could also bebecause i havent played in over a year so nobody knows who i am anymore.

i like to say nice job Don, thats great how you are proving ppls wrong about the drg myths.

and your true drg is an addiciting job lol it stopped my rdm form lvling past 60 lol now drg is 55 and i going damn... i have been 65+ with rdm.... oh well lol drg is a fun job and i would like more ppls to play it. but there should be a drg ls to help out everyone on their own servers.

Hello ^^, I'm a 73 dragoon on Ramuh, I love that I see people with a new respect for DRG, and not the common, "Oh a DRG they do sht damage inv the SAM". Well belive it or not some people may mock us, but they can say that to my 11-0 Balista 1v1 record as DRG/WHM and yes I have vs'd a MNK , NIN , DRK and RDM. I am a Taru, witch also affected my inv's in my early levels but I think I pack a punch. I have outdamaged alot of other classes and have done wheeling thrusts with SATA for over 1.000 in pt's at 70+. I would like to inspire more people to play DRG to know the wonders they can see, not only in PT with damage and right equipment and technique setups, but also Solo, ( I soloed from 60-62 ) witch can get you seals galore witch can help ur pocket problems. But most of all taru can be own as a race for Dragoon, and if you are a Dragoon and play the job correct you would understand what I mean ^_^.

It is great seeing people have a lot more respect for DRG these days, I like it, atm I am currently a 68 DRG, crapping myself because I know I will have to fight maat sooner or later ; ;, I hope I can get an assault jerkin before then
