DRG getting a party

hello all. new to DRG and i just hit 10 last night so i am ready to party, maybe. Is it really that hard to get a party or is everyone just over exaggerating? I mean i had to wait a long time for parties as a monk so i am kind of used to it. if we do have to wait along time, is it best to stay in highlands or platue to solo. then the other question comes into mind. i read whm is for soloing and war is for partying. if i were to solo while waiting for party i should be whm. is that a viable party job or should i just keep on the war sub and solo the way while LFG? thanks for the answers. cheers

Skip Dunes parties entirely. Just sub WHM and solo all the way to 20. If your gear is good and you use Meat Jerky you will be able to get EXP chains on EM-T mobs for 2.5-3k/hr, which is way more than most Dunes parties AND you don't have to deal with retards. I would imagine it would only be easier now with the shorter Call Wyvern recast, and Spirit Surge to fall back on in "oh shit" situations.

cool thanks for the info. used war and leveled myself up to 10 in 4 days. so i know we can level fast, especially with the empress band on.

Take Valdrien's advice. That's one of the wisest things I've heard in a while. Heck, I've skipped the Dunes entirely on THF, NIN, PLD, RNG, and partially on MNK too, even with gimped half-subbed MP pools. However, DRG/WHM is a natural-born soloer because of Healing Breath's ridiculous efficiency (any spell will trigger it, no matter how little MP it costs, as long as your HP is below 1/3.) Also, Orange Juices will help kill off whatever little downtime you may have. The other plus to this is that you'll make alarming ammounts of crystals, beastmen's seals, and other valuable drops while levelling - and you'll keep them all to yourself. It's sort of like getting EXP while you farm ;3

Honestly... I didn't spend much time in the Dunes. I leveled in the Maze to Lv.15. I leveled to Lv.17 in a PL'd party in the Dunes, and then I leveled in the Tunnel to Lv.20. But DRG is the fun job for me. It's pure fun, and it's what I do when I get a little burned out of my other jobs. Kinda just wanna break. I'm thinking of leveling DRG tonight, frustrated trying to raise 4mil for my Enfeebling Torque..
