I remember a while back doing a Fenrir fight with some friends and the Smn, who I didn't know, was going over the tactics. Conversation went something like this:

Smn: Okay, we're all set. By the way, what's your Dragoon 2hr do?
Drg: Call Wyvern
Smn: ...
Me: Yep, his 2hr calls his winged rat of death!
Smn: ...
Rest of party: lol
Drg: Sorry =(
<lots of emote /comforts>
Smn: ...you're serious?

kaiser the staff wasnt directed to you it was to anyone who didnt know there are plenty of drg who dont know and most of the community doesnt know about our staff skills

First thing's first. Aside from a single snide remark from ome dumb punk in the entire Fairy server-I myself have never been dissed for my DRG job. However, it's a good thing the one person who did diss me was just a beginner and only 14 years old. (So his friend-and also someone I tend to talk to-tells me.) I mean there were times when I was in chatrooms and they said "DRG are teh sux"-type stuff.

But the funniest comment I ever got was from the earlier-said kid, he posts, "/shout Dragoons are f"ing losers." As I said though, I knew he was a kid so I just ignored him. It was actually after I saved his butt (as well as many other newbs) from a Tremor Ram on the Konschtat side and Goblins on the other side (I'd of died if there were no healers around too). That made it all the more hilarious though I'll admit. I posted a "/laugh" emote after he yelled and he posted, "???"-never could he figure it out though.

After getting my DRG to 44 (almost 45), I must now seriously wonder if DRGs are gimped because I'm still out-damaging many of the other DD'ers in my own party. (Even the DRKs in my parties haven't out-damaged me yet! At least, not very often.)

Nonetheless, DRG seems to get funner to play by the day.

(Finally, the "newbie" thing. Don't you guys think that's too overused? There's the newbies, which do happen to BE new to a game or the likes thereof. Then, there are the n00bies, which are essentially what you're talking about. N00bs are inconsiderate punks mainly, they don't have to be new-but can be.)

once when i was building a party as my thief, i invited a dragoon as my 6th member.

when the blm saw i had invited a drg, she immediately disbanded from my party without a word >.>

we replaced her with something else, and made chain 4's without her. we coulda made chain 5's, except we kept running outta mobs.

i never understood drg hate. never. it's annoying when the wyvern dies, yes, but every time i've pt'd with a drg, we did just fine (minus occasional player stupiditty, which isn't job-related).

yeah I got that sometimes, when I was leveling my subs, I would invite a DRG because I wanted to :p and I would get things like "get the DRK instead" or get that THF or that NIN"

im Drg55, i do great damage, been pull since level 40~ish and im doing fine.. Mainly cause my main is thf65... some lv75 dumbfucks.. yea... drg not bad.. dont need long convos... mmmm...drg just another job... life.. real life.. WHAT???

The best party I ever had, I myself was WHM as I recall, 4 Dragoons, and another WHM. It was in Yhoatar Jungle, but we easily defeated mandys so quick-we leveled in no time.

Anyhow, no matter what I'm leveling I always look for a Dragoon or two. As a Dragoon though, thieves happen to be the best-friend to a party with a Dragoon using "SATA Viper Bite" after Double Thrust, so I'm always inviting them as DRG.

I would have liked to excersise that offer, but I wasn't willing to continue with Drg any further after 60, they removed TA critical right before I hit 60 for Subs and I just said screw all these gimps.

Also, TA was as a subbed ability was never nerfed, it never added damage on anything else other than THF main.

Ok first of all TA is not a critical. It is a damage modifier that greatly increases if the attack happens to be a critical, well unless you have assassin. Second of all, TA did have full effect when subbed, but only for a short time when the lv cap was initially raised to 60. Now as far as timeframe, this was quite some time before EN release of the game, so I think you got some bad info on this aspect. Thats one reason study isnt always > experience in this game imo, is that there is a lot of false info on the web. Quite a few "noobs" are that way because they read brady guides v.1 and memorized the entire thing. They study and learn that the guide says "advanced jobs are better than basic jobs" and "war/whm is a good job combination."

Very well said. After reading that and comparing what I had researched on message boards before actually playing the game, I came to the conclusion that the people who wrote that guide are being repeatedly sodomized by monkeys. Its the only logical explanation for someone to have such a backwards view on the game.

Then I guess I should've made a reasonable assumption that BahumutKaiser was a level 60 DRG as soon as the cap was raised that high, when DRG as a job scarcely even existed. If I bothered to quote every bloody modification made in beta and pre-NA release I wouldn't be able to say anything.
