Help New Player DRG (sub class)

ok im a new i havent yet got the game going to real soon i want to know the best sub class for a DRG they say they dont have alot of defense so i dont know what to go with. Whats the minimum lv i can become a dragoon? yeah you can tell im new

for XP parties, unless you don't want to get invites, you only sub WAR.

as for min lvl to activate DRG, as with all "advanced" jobs, you need to get to 30 in another job first. you then do the quest to unlock DRG and then switch and begin leveling that.

my recommendation to you is to go this path:
WAR to 19
unlock subjob
MNK/war to 15
WAR/mnk to 32
unlock DRG
DRG/war to 60+

no, you misunderstood. if you do not go DRG/war, you (more than likely) won't get invites.

/war is the best sj for party play. however 60+ you can solo fairly well with /whm

but can i do both? well the reason why im asking is im still confused on the subclasses i know u can have alot so can i be like a DRG/WAR for invites then if i dont get any then can i do a DRG/WHM?

Yes you can do that. You can switch subjobs and mainjobs whenever you like and however you want to. So actually you can create any combination of jobs you want at any time.

EDIT: As long as you have the job unlocked, that is.

Remember Dragoon isn't for everyone. People still have misconceptions that we just can't shake off. If Dragoon doesn't work out for you just try something else.

If you want some more insight trying searching this site for information on this subject as well as other sites, such as gamefaqs.com. Before I played this game I read up on all of the basic stuff so by the time I did get the game I wasn't confused.

DRG/WHM = SOloin king
DRGPARTY = Roox PArty Fun timE
DRG/THF = MR damage with SATA
DRG/BST= LOL?

What about Drg/Pld? I know,I havent made it to lvl 30 Drg yet, But solo at 25 isnt too bad.
Been in a "few" parties and the combo has given the reds,and whites 1 protect,3 cures
they don't have to worry about casting.(PLEASE NO FLAME),Later in the game i'll prob,
hit a roadblock and sub war.but for solo,farm,and party for light exp(no total onslaughts).
Drg/Pld seems a so so, to good combo. Just wished this combo could "Voke".

i think going drg/pld will only bring up what people say about pld as a subjob. one of my pld friends when he has to tank while leveling war likes war/pld and says with the right foods and equipment it makes a very good combo. sorry i forgot which ones, i dont plan on leveling war any time soon lol.

paladin, besides banish/flash and cures and undead ability, other than the defensive abilities pld really doesn't have much to offer, so if you aren't main or backup tank, you'd might be better off subbing war for better str, thf if past 30 for SATA, whm if you prefer the cures and banish, you'll also get blink for those stray hits and stoneskin for those pesky AoEs and more mps than pld.

if you're subbing pld, then w/o provoke you are neither main tank (which you should never be hopefully) or back-up tank, so unless you're fighting undead, there's no reason to sub pld.

of course this is a rdm's opinion, so take it w/ a grain of salt.

of course it's best to leave Flash to the main pld or whm, or Kura??? (blind) for the nin or blind to the rdm or blm

DRG/WAR SAM THF DRK WHM RDM all work great, but like others have said (due to people being stupid and not willing to atleast try something) DRG/WAR will get you EXP parties faster.
