  • Store TP: Sub vs. Equipment

    Right now there's only the belt and ring, but I suspect there may be more to come. My question, is how the equipment compares to the trait. About how much + Store TP would I need to be equal to having SAM as a subjob? I know the strength of Store TP when subbed has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find it. And besides, I'd like a chance to get a few comments from DRG's on if they find the Rajas ring useful to them.

    I think the most profound effect of the Store TP +5 on Rajas will go to warriors and Dark Knights. Greataxes and most HQ scythes will leave you with 99% tp (NQ scythes will give 100% exactly. So it could potentially lower your DoT by upgrading to a +1). I honestly think it was meant to fix the DRK with +1 scythe problem since people who would have a Rajas Ring while leveling drk would probably use a +1 where they can get it. I guess that doesn't really contribute to the post, but I thought I'd toss that out for you. I hadn't really thought that far but, I've seen how fun drg/sam is in action. I'd be interested to see one with Rajas and Barone.

      Hmmm, I end up at 96-99% TP on a regular basis, so I think the Rajas would be handy for DRG as well.

      It's too bad Kraken Club or Ridill don't give TP on their extra hits. Otherwise I'd be going SAM/NIN with those weapons, AF2 + Store TP gear, and Rajas for Spirits Within spamming.

        Hm? The extra attacks from KC and Ridill are just that - extra attacks. You earn full TP for each extra attack that lands.

          So was I mislead then? I can't hope to possibly have either any time soon, so I wasn't able to try it myself. So if a player would get 6.3% TP for each Ridill hit and 6.9% for each KC hit, then 2 from the Ridill and 4 from the KC would normally net 40.2% TP. Between the trait and equipment, SAM should have no problem getting +30 Store TP. 40.2% TP would become 52.26% (One hit of each is 17.16% TP and all possible hits landing--Ridill up to 3 and KC up to 8--is 96.33%). If we can assume 52% as an average SAM could use Spirits Within every two attacks. The combined delay is 500, minus NIN delay trait and possibly Suppanomimi, means approximately 8 seconds between attacks and 16 seconds between weapon skills. If we assume 3 attacks rotations, that's a weaponskill every 24 seconds.

          Of course, this isn't taking into account delays for weapon skills, utsusemi, buffs, accuracy, Zanshin, etc. I think this would be most effective for Limit Point parties and questionable for HNM. Sushi, madrigals, and +ACC gear would be a must. But if this could actually work. . . I'd hate to face the guy that can pull all of this equipment together in Ballista.

            just a quick note that once again, has nothing to do with the original post: the presence of dual wield or Suppa won't really effect tp. except I suppose it's more misses for Zanshen to kick in. But the psuedo-haste from dual wield lowers tp/swing so you never get more tp via dual wield unless you're using daggers or some other means of getting your tp return to hit under 5%. Also, and of course you know this, if you're wearing all that +store tp gear, you're not wearing all that +acc gear. And club/sword skill on samurai isn't very... forgiving. Indeed, this could be very devastating in ballista, but I bet an eva-built nin would never get hit.

              Yes, and I realized another very important point after posting. Spirit's Within needs 300% TP to be worthwhile. I haven't payed an incredible amount of attention to the other weaponskills open to SAM for sword, so I'm not sure what the best route is.

              And you brought up another interesting thought that I didn't catch right away in your first post. How does Rajas affect Barone/Conte armor? I suspect the TP bonus isn't affected, but it would be nice if it is. Who here has the gear and patience to check?

                I was just referring to the fact that Rajas has +store tp, and Barone has tp+ on Jumps. So it's like having Store TP+ even more while jumping! >.> or something.
