Hey, I played FFXI a while back, back in January or February. I was an Elvaan Drg/Sam. I remember there being lots of times when I'd miss alot, which is not suprising considering I didn't have very many Accu+ items. I was just wondering if there has been any changes since then that would make me either want to change race, or even change sub jobs. Any info would be great. Thanks alot.

DRG/SAM....Hmmm.....Check the penta-thrust TP nerf. That might make you want to change. Now when you use meditate you only get 60% tp, and on a multi-hit WS you'll only get 1% tp back for EVERY hit AFTER the first hit. Sucks, really.

Wow....that doesn't sound good at all....What is the most common subjob in more recent times? And if you could link me to a good FFXI Info site, that'd be great. Thanks.

Well, now most DRGs I see are either /THF or /WAR. I've even seen a DRG/DRK once, don't know how that is though. And this is the website I use for ffxi, but if you want others, here's what I know.

Great, thanks. Looks like I'll have to give Thf a try then. Shame how the nerfed the WSs =/ I used to love throwing down a flurry of Pentas.

If you mean THF subjob I wouldn't recommend it, it's only good for farming. Some people are obsessed with seeing big damage on their WS, but Double Attack, Provoke, and Berserk far outweigh anything THF sub has to offer. I wouldn't consider your lack of DEX to be bad enough to change race, Elvaan have excellent STR and more HP.

If you're looking for substance in DRG as a successful FFXI career (God/King HNMs), you'll be severely disappointed. In fact, if you're not a mage, ranger, or tank you'll be severely disappointed. You're not contributing much to the LS, essentially sopping up the loot you can use, and little else. That part of the game is severely unbalanced.

I'd say the closest thing to being a DRG and still being useful would be DRK. MNKs can do Chi Blast, but the utility of DRK Stun is quite useful. Though a BLM can stun and cast some nukes between...

If you're planning to play the game for a while though, doesn't matter I guess. Can get multiple jobs to 75 like JP/importers and some cracked out NAs.
