Edit: I would hate to sound like I'm specifically harping on crisis (I've got nothing against him honestly), so I'd like to clarify that this pretty much applies to all advocates of unorthodox job combos. Including Shokotanknight (I think he means shotokan, which is a martial arts discipline developed in japan about 200 years ago), who is pretty much in the same boat, being a 54 samurai with an underleveled drk sub.

Feh, I know all thier is to know about Shotokan Karate...I just changed up the name some and added "knight" to the end....I really hope you feel good about your little lesson you tailed at your "edit"....but it's ok, according to you, not everyone can attempt to make themselves "original" or "different" without you stomping a mudhole in thier ideas with your crappy, incessant, "big worded" ramblings....or maybe it's the fact that you wanted to make yourself bigger with the essay you typed out as an arguement to his statement....and I do like /DRK sub cuz of Last Resort and Souleater O_o (I wonder what you will say when I lvl my sub)....wait, what lvl are you again? (of course you'll be "lvl 60+", the fact that none of us here can really tell...)

I felt like appending Shotokan because I was feeling frivolous, 'scuse me. I'm 2nd kyu (2nd brown) in it too, if you feel that that's really relevant.
Next time you reply try to make it relevant, instead of incoherently flaming because of "'big-worded' ramblings". Probably not the best angle to insult me from, since all it illustrates is that you don't know how to read. And hey, if I may say so, that post I made was pretty damn civil. Oh, and you don't HAVE Soul Eater yet. Moreover, you've NEVER EVEN USED IT BEFORE. Saying you like a sub because of an ability you don't have yet is one of the more retarded things I've read. It's hard to take someone's game advice seriously when they appear to be so incompetent, with sub-par equipment and an inferior underleveled sub. You might have made up for that with writing something that made some small amount of sense, but you failed rather miserably. Really, stop making me laugh.
Just to spite you though, I'm not level 60 yet, which is why I haven't made many judgements on the gameplay aspect of this argument. I've simply argued against the logic of picking an inferior sub and whether it really is "funner".
One more thing. When you level your drk sub all I (or most people) will say is, "great. now go level war or thf, noob." That pretty much sums all of this up.

drg/drk does not work untill 60...even then is sucks the big ones...i fail to see how casting...something that doesnt land...and losing berserk and double hit is "fun"

shoko only agrees cuz he subs drk...drk is not a sub...if you are subbing drk to "make it more fun" stop gimping your self and go ER DUH DRK!!! i dont possibly see how you can get a pt as a drg/drk or a sam/drk...

What the hell is the issue if he even stated DRG/WAR is the better combo? He does it for fun and knows of the consequences. Once again, people go in rapid attempts to be the first to show off their e-penis by stating irrelevant matters. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves...

I seriously think they like to make themselves feel better by acting like know-it-alls even to the point where they think can judge who's having fun and who's not....

Let crisis do what he wants, he already said he goes drg/war, and to be honest alot of my Dragoon friends sub thf for the higher ws dmg, because they tell me drg/war isn't all that great compared to other melee high endgame, so why not try other subs like /thf, /drk?

Drg/drk also puts up bigger numbers than drg/war because of the attack up trait that stacks while the one from /war doesn't. Drg/drk has Soul Eater and Super Jump on the same timers, which can prove to be quite convenient. Sure Last Resort isn't the same as Berserk,but you often forget that Last Resort has a built-in hate tool, while Berserk doesn't. Dragoons are masters of dissipating hate, and anything that adds hate followed by a high-jump to shed hate, is always welcome. @ LVL 60, A drg/drk playing with a thf can use Jump, Last Resort, for a quite hate draw, shed the hate with high jump, and when skillchain comes up, draw hate with SoulEater + Wheeling Thrust, superjump, and thf would close skillchain unto PLD who would the voke after the MB.

So it does sound pretty good in terms of helping deal damage and hate management.

since drg gets an attack up stat...the ones from drg and drk dont stack...there for you get no extra attack...

Thanks so much for this topic man. I searched all over. See, I started about 2 weeks ago and was intent on being a drg/drk, or as I also called it a Dark Dragoon or Fallen one.

But everyone in game told me it was the WORST POSTTIBLE COMBOZ EVAR j00 = n00bv! ROFL OMG YOU SUX0r.

Except for the people in my linkshel, who ranged from: that wont work at all to I dunno, never seen it work; but in theory you would do a lota dmg just you'd have problems staying alive.. and it is probably not worth it.

So I said I would level warrior, thief, drk, and drg just in case. any combo doesn't work I can fall back on anything else.

Someone said look in forums and faq sites and listed a few. This is the only one that took this matter serously in the way I wanted to see it taken.

The closest best topic/faq to this was drg/drk vs drg/sam proving how much both suck compared to war and how sam kix drks ass.

I now know that it will work the way I want it too, it just will take forever to get there and many parties will prefer me switching to drg/war, but I will still drg/drk for fun.

My plan now is along the lines of get war up to 30-40ish, then the same with drk, then thief (in random order, was told 37 was a good number) then get war up near 60, then work drk near 60, then work drg last. I will then be able play for fun like I want and have a back up in case I'm in a situation that it won't work (which most sits will probably be like that from what I hear).
