Drg/Drk?

Would a Dragoon/DarkKnight be a good Job combo? I meen you git all the attack power from a Drk and the Souleater and Weapon bash witch requires a 2 handed weapon I.E. Polearm, plus you git some black magic which would make interesting battle tactics? Post what you think, but dont flame me. Ive seen what some people have done to others who posted dumb job combos, like im saying my own job combo is dumb =P

I think for the abilities it's good, but I think a /warrior sub is better. Double attack is nice. Souleater tends to piss off the WHM's. The BLM's Spells would be too low and the MP would be HORRID. I'm not trying to flame, but I think /WAR is better than /DRK.

If any job should use /drk it should be Dragoon. Their SoulEater is on same timer as Superjump, so once u grab too much hate from your LR+SE+Ws just superjump it away. The atk bonus II stacks but not the first one, i guess only drawback is that u can't always land spells, but the little mp could be useful if you're the only one who's to pull. It's better cuz u could use poison instead of using one of your jumps.

And yes Berserk > Last Resort but in a way, i feel high end game, 60+ ATK becomes overrated and not something really THAT important in comparison to other stats. I see alot more high lvlers wear STR+ gear and DEX+ than ATK in later stages. So i'm starting to believe that 3 min of 25%ATK isn't all that, however, Double Attack if it triggers alot can be very resourceful.

So try both and see which one u like better, it is about you.

Lvl 60 so far. I have yet to see berserk not consistantly add 20-30% damage per shot on xp mobs.

The problem that you run into is not that the other subs are bad, it's just that /war is better for straight up damage and versatility in case thing go bad.

I aggree, and you not flaming. What i planned to do is alternate between Drg/Drk and Drg/War. I should of said that in my first post

and don't forget it you get really near death like 25% hp (33% with af helm) you can cast a spell so your wyvern heals you up by a bit

This could work to a certain extent if you are a straight DD with no other responsibilities. One nice thing is that DRK tend to generate a lot of hate so High Jump and Super Jump might be more useful. I'm not sure how much hate a /DRK would draw though.

The main downside to this that I see, other than having very low DEF and a complete inability to help tank if the need arises, is extremely low MP. As a mithra DRG, when I sub RDM (for farming, mainly), I have around 90 MP at level 55. I assume /DRK would have even less. That adds up to a lot of downtime if you actually want to cast. If you are just subbing DRK for the abilities, though, that might be a non-issue.

I love DRG/WAR and I have a hard time seeing enough practical use in anything other than this, especially with the difficulty DRG has getting parties at higher levels, but I would love to see the results of peoples' experience.

Just a thought - Valkyre's mask would be a MUST for this combo.
