Not another whiny Dragoon post

I am really into killing dragons, so I went with Dragoon... not for the supposed increased attack/def against dragons, but just for the Title Dragoon. The allmighty dragon slayer. Well I got to level 25 and killed my first dragon, yay!! Just figured id post this instead of something like "this job sucks!" Go out and have fun peoples!

During the Rank3 fight is the only time I get to use Ancient Circle and Dragon Killer.

I've used it to do the Dragoon quest a few times. Not that that helped me much.

Its not very helpful really. PLD get undead. DRK get arcana. We get dragons. Shame there is none. Maybe it should work on raptors, cockatrice and lizards aswell. It might be useful then.

Let's not forget SAM's Warding Circle which protects against demons. ^_^
On another note, I'm not sure about the other "circle" abilities, but why does warding circle wear off so damn fast?

They changed it a few patches ago I think to 1 min duration with a 10 minute recast.

Dragoons arnt really helpful against dragons at all. And melees in generally arnt really wanted VS HNM. Dont pick DRG because its usefullness (none) pick it because you like its sexy purple armor!!

Good question, I always thought Dragoons protected dragons. I mean, we have a small dragon following us.

in lore Dragoons did not "Protect" dragons.

Dragoons we're knights who formed a pack with a dragon.
They could be evil or good depending on the dragon's
heart. if the dragon was evil so would the dragoon, if the
dragon was holy so would the dragoon. that is where they got

because of the kinship they create with dragons they are given special powers over them. thus ancient circle and dragon killer.

Dragoon's are meant to rule dragons. Some kill them. Some form bonds with them. Really up to the Dragoon.
The 2hour in this game gives you command over a Wyvern. A smaller, weaker cousin of the dragon. It's all about what Mythology or Legend you look at. I think all dragon mobs in this game are Wyvern types except for Fafnir, Nighogg, and a few that look like the Rank 3 dragon.

The only two dragon types I can take at my lvl are the Dragoon Dragon, and the Shadow Dragon up North. Not many to use Ancient Circle on. But it dose help, if only a small amout. It's never saved me. Or turned the tides of battle. But it has given me a few extra turns over the dragon.

As far as Dragon Killer goes. I really have no clue. Doesn’t seem to do anything at all. I hit for the same. No damage up. No higher critical rate. And no other job I've been with has any kind of trouble without the trait.

Over all Dragoon's are gimped in the ability department. But I like the job. I wont quit or anything just because it has a harder time then most other melee.
